Just finished my first IT Classic..the Chief, a hefty 7.5" x 52 ring cigar.
The construction was superb, albeit a bit soft. The H-2000 wrapper is flawless, dark brown, and supple.
The initial burn was a bit uneven, but that corrected itself after about an inch.
Almost immediately, there was a smooth, sweet, creamy, almost buttery taste that lasted thoughout...not a bit of harshness to speak of beyond the initial lighting. It is clear that the 2+ years of aging have removed any traces of harshness or bitterness, producing a mild-medium bodied flavor profile.
It constantly amazes me how tobaccos can produce such a creamy, buttery sweet taste. While not the full-bodied powerhouse taste usually associated with most IT offerings, this IT offering gives the smoker a very satisfyingly creamy, buttery sweet taste.
