I could very well be real. I caught a 250lb one on the columbia......it took about 45 minutes to an hour to get it to the boat!! Very cool, got a nice video of that. Course you can't keep em....that's just not fair!! I think it was like over 7 foot long....very fun to catch!

When I was stationed in Panama years ago they were draining one of the locks to do some maintenance. Caught in the lock was a 230lb sturgen! Big Fish!

I once caught one of those about half that size and it took us 30 min to 45 minutes to land the thing, took a couple of photos of the Sturgeon and let it go!

That looks about 10' or so. I've heard they can get that big.

it was the biggest 1 speared for the season.

Nice Filets out of that one... Yep they can get that big and bigger... but you gotta go down in the holes and pull em up... up here in the North they call it Hoggin..

I knew a guy.. passed away now.. he had a knack for Hoggin one of the best around.. the scars he had on his arms from the yrs of battle on these type fish... he took me and a buddy out a few times... I learned how to do the feelin for them and drive the boat... he did the rest LOL... he told us once you slide your arm up in their mouths... they get a gag reflex and once you start to feel them do that you jamb your arm up and in and grab ahold of their Gill and hold the hell on!!! if you flench and draw your arm back any bit you'll get cut wide open... as I said his arms had scars it looked as though he had run through a patio window a few times... but he could set up some fantastic cookouts

Great Pic!!!!

They raised the length limit from 41" to 43" during portions of the year now.
Oh yeah, that is MINIMUM length. Max length for keepers is 6'.
We've had 12' sturgeon caught, but you should see the look on a tourists face when you tell them that it is too big and they have to throw it back. LOL!
