I've been lounging around these boards and several cigar sites for a couple of months now and must first off say thanks for all the lively discussions, I've learned a ton thanks to all the great posts on here. I'm a 28 year old pharmacy school student in the KC area, married with 2 kids, both under 3. I just began smoking cigars about 3-4 months ago, and have sampled many lines. I recently tried the A. Fuente Short Story thanks to a thread posted on here, and must say that is now in my top 5 favorites thus far.

Now to my question that some of you gentlemen (and/or gentlemenettes) could answer for me. What is the relationship between say the Punch cigars made in the D.Republic and those made in Cuba? Are they the same company? The same question would apply to other brands as well: Montecristo, Partagas, Cohiba, etc.

No relationship.

If you like the SS you need to try the Don Carlos and Hemi Maduros like the WOAM, UTS or Sig if you can find them. Also Ashton aged maddie and VSG.

Welcome. Just FYI, the non-ISOM Punch are made in Honduras.

I am not sure, but I belive the folks at General cigar, Villazon etc, just buy the name and then have the rights to market their cigars under the said cuban name.

Welcome aboard!

There is a world of difference between the domestically available brands and the Cubans. Not saying that the domestics aren't any good, just that the Cubans have won my heart and mind!

I think we may have a new source for PG now! 🙂
