In the 'old days', a 'torpedo' meant that it had points at both ends ... and the 'Belicoso' had the cut foot. Belicoso's are also shorter than torpedo's. Pyramid also falls into that catagory.
Nowdays, they seem to call both a 'torpedo' ...
Belicoso - about 6 inches long and a ring gauge of 48 (~3/4 inch) with a pointed cone shaped head.
Petite Belicoso - about 5 inches long and a ring gauge of 40 (~6/10 inch) with a pointed cone shaped head.
Pyramid - about 6 to 7 inches long and tapers down from a ring gauge of 52 (~8/10 inch) at the foot and 42 (~7/10 inch) at the head with a pointed, cone shaped head. Smoking time 45-60 minutes.
Torpedo – varies in length and ring gauge. Has a pointed cone shaped head, bulge in the body, and a relatively flat foot.
They aslo call the cigar that is pi=ointed at both ends the 'perfecto' shape ...
Here is another definition of the shapes:
Pyramid - It has a pointed, closed head and widens to an open foot.
Belicoso - A small pyramid-shaped cigar with a rounded head rather than a point.
Torpedo - A shape with a pointed head, a closed foot and a bulge in the middle.
Perfecto - These look like the cigar in cartoons with two closed rounded ends and a bulge in the middle.
Diademas - A giant cigar 8 inches or longer. Most often it has an open foot, but occasionally it will come with a perfecto tip, or closed foot.
