Had my first Davidoff Millennium Robusto this morning. It was beautifully made; perfect draw, perfectly firm but yelding all the way down to the last 1/2 inch. it never got loose at the end, and the creamy hazelnut-leather taste stayed with me all day. When i got home today, the smell was still there taunting me to fire up another one. I may have to retire my lesser sticks...

You must be very wealthy.

Congratulations.

I had a Davidoff Millenium Blend and I thought it to be mediocre at best.

Proving yet again, that tastes differ.

Proving once again that the darkside has taken over MACS(SW)!

nope I'm not wealthy, I just have a generous local tobacconist who appreciates I support him at least as often as I buy from the internet. I paid more for my first humi buying from him then I could have paid on the net, but inturn I enjoy his advice, enough occasional freebees, and access to his private stock to make it more then worthwhile. I have not have the experience of trying thirty or more brands, and appreciate the education, comradery, and relaxing hours spent in his shop's club-like atmosphere. Regarding the Davidoff; to me it was a perfectly constructed, wonderfully tasting stick.

I'm sorry your experience was different.

Don't feel bad for MAC(SW), it's just like he said ... tastes differ.

I have found the for the high $$$ that Davidoff demands, they are just too mild and lack the flavor that I am looking for ...

Shiloh,

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing else like a Davidoff Melli. It's a complex smoke with finesse. It is a tad mild though. And I do enjoy them on the rare occasion that I'm willing to spend that much on a milder stick.

As for the relationship you built up with your tobacconist, that is exactly why online vendors will never replace brick and mortar shops. I could hang out and chat for hours at one of my locals and not be expected to buy a single thing.

Unfortunately most of my business goes to the online vendors bcause of CA "sin" taxes.

Bottom line - Enjoy the Davidoff Melli! Do not let others tell you what you like. A wise man on another forum says, "Smoke what you like - Like what you smoke"

I happen to enjoy the Davidoff Millennium blend. In particular is the Robusto. I'm always on the look out for promos which have keept my cost to about $8 per stick. I also enjoy their vintage releases. The 2003 Vintage panatela was superb as is the 2004 Vintage Especial 7. X
