My Colemador has an unusual smell that developed 5 days after I made my oasis. Smells like over-ripe fruit.

Seems to be coming from the humidifer - oasis foam with 50/50 propylene glycol (food grade from drugstore) and distilled water.

Soaked foam in water a while and smell seems to be gone. Label on foam said it contained a floral preservative.

Any ideas anybody? Thanks.

I would guess its the floral preservative.

Gotta' be the preservative.

Hope you did get it completely out of there. If not, I would consider starting over with preservative free foam. That and more PG ain't free, but it's a small, insurance investiment next to the worth of your cigars.
