My old unit will be departing soon on another deployment and this will be the first one I will be missing... It wont be the last one either, But it ain't my job anymore!!!!

i know what you mean hog. i miss it as well. well, some of it i don't miss. went to gulf first time around then to somalia then to haiti, etc. when i see a group of men readying themselves for some sort of overseas mission i have a strange feeling in my gut. kind of an urgent excitement/dread. also i feel the need to be there as well. anyway not my job anymore either......guess age finally does catch up to you.lol

Same here. I feel like I'm not doing my duty, and feel snubbed that my old unit is deploying without me. 😞
