He's always popping up in movies here and there, and I've noticed he's been doing a lot of stand-up comedy on political issues.

He was on Politically Incorrect one time. That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. HR comes off as a stony, callous man, but he has a cutting, and wicked sense of humor, which of course if you don't get it seems like he is verbally cutting off your head and feeding it to you. Had them quaking in their boots.

I once did an interview with him, back in '83, after a Black Flag gig. I was doing stuff for a punk-zine called Partisan. Those were the days!! Just one month before BF, The Dead Kennedys visited Denmark. The best gig/concert ever that I've attended.

I saw him perform 24 years ago in a small garage in austin texas.........Slam dancing ruled under the flag!

Hansen, sounds like a great show. I certainly was a fan of BF and the DKs but I was working with bands at the time and unfortunately missed a lot of great punk shows.

The first Black Flag show I caught had the Circle Jerks and Minutemen also. This was right about the time of "The Decline of Western Civilization" movie came out....late '81 I guess.

I know I went out and bought "Damaged" right after the show. Still have it.

Ramones, Dead Kennedy's, Dead Milkmen, Flipper, Fugazi, Clash, Sex Pistols, The Damned, Generation X, X, The Buzzcocks, Siouxsie & The Banshees, the UK Subs...oh the list goes on....Kicking rock 'n' roll in the ass....time to clean out the closet again!

I saw Rollins several times. Last time I saw him was a spoken word tour in NYC. He is the man.
I have read several of his books as well.
I have to say though, i have more ink than him.

Other than Liar, I never got into his music or spoken word. I do however appreciate how he and the Butthole Surfers do their best to support Roky Erickson. After being reamed for pretty much most of his life by the International Artists label, droves of unsupportive bootleggers, and unsympathetic mental institutions, the efforts of Henry and a few others are probably all that keep Roky viable and independant. For those who don't know who I'm talking about, check out The Thirteenth Floor Elevators (the first, and still the best psychedelic band ever), and Rokys' solo albums. Especially 'All That May Do My Rhyme', as I think it's the only one that Roky makes any real money from. Henrys' label also publihed Rokys' book of lyrics and poems 'Openers II'. Whatever you think of Henry Rollins' entertainment value, he is an intelligent, and socially conscious individual.
