I just lit up a monstrous 7.5" x 52 sample for review. It's dark, dense, and quite delicious so far - started out with a little bit of spice, but quickly balanced itself into a creamy, rich smoke with toasty notes while giving off tons of velvety grey smoke. I might have to pull the old 'fraternity trick' with the smoke detector for this one.

Keep posting pictures of pretty ladies, cause it looks like I'm going to be here for awhile!

Here are the notes that i just submitted:

very rich opening

toasty and spicy

smoke is thick and velvety

no spice after about 1/2 an inch

this thing lets off a TON of grey smoke

within the first 2 inches i notice a slight sweetness that makes me think of red wine

soon after, the aftertaste becomes very dry but still somewhat creamy and rich

i picked up a subtle hint of vanilla at the midway point

smooth rich finish. this cigar has a lot of depth...lots of subtle flavors that kept me interested

i would gladly nub this cigar any time

A Synergy Magnum? LMAO!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

But you could at least give us some hint of what it is. Like maybe a manufacturer?

That is like saying you test drove a vehicle and it was a nice ride, smooth, but with great handling.

LOL!

Oh the agony of working for a major cigar retailer!

I'll tell you what I can:

a.) It's called Ancient Warrior

b.) It's made in the Torano factory

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you who it's made for...yet. I'll be lighting up another tonight, I hope it's as good as last night’s.

"made in the Toraño factory" is good enough for me.

From all the descriptions, sounds like it's a Gurkha. So what do I win Steve?

Gurkha or Indian Tabac.

It could be a lot of things - Torano makes a ton of smokes. Keep in mind, they have factories in more than one country. 🙂

2 inches into Round II. She's just as good as last night's, and is pairing nicely with Brandon's latest java creation.

This one kind of reminds me of the Don Kiki Brown Label. Very tame, yet loaded with rich, creamy flavors. From what I understand, it's a Brazilian blend.

Ok. I've found one negative to this cigar. The ash just fell on my lap. This one's a little flaky. Fortunately, I could care less about ash when it comes to a cigar. As long as it burns and tastes good...it's a winner in my book.

As long as a hot ash or ember doesn't burn a hole in your pants, I don't mind a little ash dusting.

Not wearing pants solves that problem...but creates others.

This is a clasic case of a retailer using a VERY 'creative' marketing strategy ...

... when they finally do show up on the auctions here, everyone who has followed this thead will do the predictable thing ...

... and OVERBID!!!

Clever ... very clever Steve ... 😉

Slim. Trust me, there's plenty of cigars that I test/review, end up loving, and never see again. It happens way too often, now that I think about it 😞

I'm wondering what would happen to this thread if one of us were to write this up?

Hmm, you may be right Slim. Is "Backwoods" making presidente size dog rockets now?
