Guys,

Lets not be prudes, see the NYS marriage laws. he posts are strictly for US terms only/

How many get married to millioniares (IP industry).

Plus been married for 23 yrs now, so like cigars age fine with time.

Under 18: If either applicant is under 14 years of age, a marriage license cannot be issued. If either applicant is 14 or 15 years of age, such applicant(s) must present the written consent of both parents and a justice of the Supreme Court or a judge of the Family Court having jurisdiction over the town or city in which the application is made.
If either applicant is 16 or 17 years of age, such applicant(s) must present the written consent of both parents. If both applicants are 18 years of age or older, no consents
are required.

oh, i have no problem with it. i'm just surprised it was 1) legal and 2) approved by the bride's folks. you have to admit that it's pretty rare.

either way, it's awesome that you've made it 23 years. a month from yesterday will be 10 years for me and my wife. we were 19 and 21, which is pretty young these days for 10 years worth of marriage. i'm just shocked she hasn't killed me yet.

i'm very happy for the two of you. it's good to see that it's still going strong.

23 years...you beat the odds. Especially with the age gap. (Frankly...I woulda put her in the humi for about 4 years...but that's my thing...not yours).

Anyway...congrats.

...to those of you that have the b*lls to downright criticize and try to take away from the joy this man is expressing in being married for 23 years, shame on you. Who is more wrong? This lovely couple that took a chance, did something extremely "wrong" in the eyes of most of us, morally, and had the true love and devotion it takes to make it work, or you that still continue to criticize today?

Do you know where they are from? Do you know their background? Remember that just because you in apple-pie, everything is perfect, hate your next door neighbor but don't forget to say grace (stolen lyrics), America disagree with what they have done, it doesn't mean that other cultures, faiths, and ethnic groups agree with you.

My Grandpa passed on last April. My Grandmother still loves him as she did while they enjoyed 72 years of marriage.......beginning with her at 14 and him at 25. Tell me again how wrong that is? Be careful what you say.....I get p*ssed really easy.

Congrats to you and your lovely wife my friend. Although I disagree with the age gap that you started with, you somehow beat the odds and made it work. You both have done well. I wish you many years more of happiness.

adroomi,

Many thanks for your support, didn't know we had so many prudes on the boards. Yes, her parents were from old country (Italy). I had to be cleared by grandma for marriage of princess, the three questions.

Do you work: Yes since 14.
Do you have money: I at 27 had house, bank account, Vet and NYU grad.
Do you beat: Never ever hit a woman.

Then Grandma and her parents went into dining room, 10 minutes later they came out and blessed marriage. I found out years later grandma stated "good man with brains".

Well the rest is history, we have mellowed like a well oiled maduro wrapper.

Once again many thanks, and pre happy holidays to your family.

emtd67,
how 'bout you come back in a few days after the bleeding's stopped? maybe you should respond when you're in a more calm, serene state. that was just uncalled for, and i'm hoping my assumption of the "time of the month" being the influence is correct. if not, maybe you should just quietly be unhappy about a man that is sharing his successful marriage with the board. 23 years, for cryin' out loud. how can you be so damn critical? you been married? you married now? obviously things went for well for them -- better than they go for most couples these days.

take your medication and relax. this is a good thing. don't piss all over it.

I'm with 'droomi...it's a sensitive subject..but cudos to you and yours...where I'm from...there's prearranged marriages by both parties' parents still...whether your 14 or 27...though the chances of things working out when marrying early are slim...imho..i wouldnt operate that way today with my daughter or family..but who am I to judge others beliefs and values...

more power to you both....i'm going on 3 yrs marriage(ball and chain which I love)..13 yrs togethor...feels more like 13 yrs marriage..lol

A 27 year old marrying a 14 year old seems wrong to me. A 29 year old who gets a 16 year old pregnant seems even more wrong to me. I guess that laws of statuatory rape don't apply when you are married.

But hey that is just my opinion. With that being said 23 years of being married is something that a lot of people just can't do. So congrats on that.

One of my uncles taught high school back N. Dakota. He was 23 when he fell in mutual love with a pretty high school sophomore. They dated on the sly for two years, till she graduated, then got married. They had two kids and are now a happy elderly couple.
