Subject: A little bit of grass

Here is an American stationed in Iraq (a big sand box). He asked his wife to send him dirt, fertilizer, and some grass seeds so he can have the sweet aroma and feel the grass grow beneath his feet.

He is even cutting the grass with a pair of scissors. Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the little things that we take for granted. Upon receiving this, please say a prayer for our airmen, Marines, sailors, and soldiers that give (and give up) so unselfishly for us.

God Bless Our Troops!!!!

"Soldiers"

Soldiers were once children,
Just as we too, were a child as well,
And Soldiers also have a heart,
But are hardened, so you can't always tell.

Soldiers are also human,
And sleep, just like us, each night,
Soldiers are there in life today,
To help make things right.

War has changed in many ways,
Through out the course of time,
It’s written in the Bible,
We can see it, line by line.

War today is more about,
The love and well being of man,
And keeping peace through out the world,
As with God's Love, only Soldiers can.

Yet, a Soldier is someone's child to love,
What ever their military life
A soldier is also someone's
Brother, Sister, Daughter, Son or Wife.

A soldier is also a Father, Mother,
And they can get it really rough,
To offer to give their life for another,
Can never be appreciated enough.

So a prayer to God, in Heaven above,
Lord grant all Soldiers, forever more,
That they don't fight to conquer,
Rage violence and rage war,
But that they fight to liberate,
All men, to set them free,
Bring hope and love for mankind
My Lord, my God, Hear me.

Let a Soldier be, a source of strength,
A teacher, and a guide,
And someone mankind looks up to,
With loving trust, hope and pride.

Amen

There was a time in my life where I was traveling for business, by plane, 9 out of 10 days, and there was a bit of depression going on. My doctor told me to take off my shoes and socks and put my feet in the grass to help me feel more "grounded". It sounds funny, but it really helped me feel more like I was back at home.

I really know where this soldier is coming from.
