Never been a Red Sox fan. Never liked East coast teams. Always been an A's fan.

But there was something very special about that win. Congratulations to all the Red Sox fans out there. You may all dring till you're full and p155 on the curse of the "bambino".

The win was just part of the Bambino's curse... now they will have a drought for the next 80 years... starting in 2005 with winding up on the bottom of the standings of the AL East... you heard it here first!

Yankee fans are the spoiled brats of the sports world. Nobody denies their prolonged success. Nobody. But the Yankee FANS, on the other hand, are a bunch of whiney do-nothings with no real pride whatsoever.

This world series victory was MUCH sweeter because we tore down the house the Ruth built. We embarrassed the Yankees in one series in a manner which makes all their previous victories over the Sox pale in comparison. And truth be told, there are a LOT of those games.

Thank you Bucky Dent for throwing out the first pitch in game 7. You helped us rid yet another demon from our tortured souls.

We Bostonians have always had our enemies. We HATE the Montreal Canadians. But not their fans.
We HATE the miami dolphins and New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. But not their fans.
And we HATE the Lakers. The team. Not their fans.

Why, then, do we not only hate the Yankees, but also their fan base (as a collective whole, not individually)? Because of their spoiled brat attitudes and arrogance.

Yankee fans should rejoice. Because with our total victory we may have inadvertantly let out YOUR demons too. And you might, just maybe, once again join the civilized world of modern sports fans and rejoice in the moment. Not live in the past.

Great post gater. I agree with your comment on some Yankees fans. I however, am one of the lucky fans to have had season tix as a kid from 1985-1990--BY NO MEANS am I a fair-weather fan. Just because everyone jumps on the Evil Empire bandwagon doesn't negate the dedication of the true Yankee fans (same can be said for my love of the Philadelphia Eagles).

I was born a Yankee fan in the Bronx in 1976, first game I can remember was in 1980 (vs. the BoSox--I think it was a "Bat Day"--worst idea ever, handing out bats to us folks in the Bronx LOL), and suffered through a rough 80's. Because I've been a fan for so long, I savor our series victories because I've been a fan of the losing Yankees longer than I've been a fan of the winning Yankees.

We ARE the "Evil Empire" and I LOVE being the bad guy! Do we steal the best from other teams? Yes. Why? Because we deserve the best and because we can. Doesn't ANYONE remember when the Yankees bullpen was a TOTAL joke?!

To quote Will Ferrell from "Zoolander" :
"Doesn't anyone notice this?! I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!"
