cigars are a status thing with me, being that i'm an ****.

i found when i was walking my dog and smoking one, that if i held the band toward the sun, it glitters like crazy.

really impressed my neighbors.

However the best reason I ca think of is to impress the neighbors.

The Catherine the Great story is the one I had heard. In Europe it is fashonable to remove the band when smoking the cigar! Some of them will tear the damn wrapper, so I leave mine on, unless it is a dog rocket!

the band can also be used instead of postage stamps to see if viagra is needed. You never know where a stamp has been.

I read the bands were invented in the usa around the time of teddy roosevelt. Cigars became popular and the makers to differentiate themselves from others put bands on them.
