This was my drive to work Monday morning. They call it the pines to palms hwy.Its the back way to Palm springs from San Diego. Its just beautiful but a pain to drive in . I saw 3 cars off the road 1 upside down. The lady was o.k. just shook up. I drive like 10 miles per hour. Black ice its nasty! But you guys back east know all about that.

Come take a drive in sunny New York! If I can find a photo from last years snow fall I will post it. Our snow banks usually get higher than the cars! Pretty picture though!

Hwy 74, from palm desert to 371 through Anza to 79 to interstate 15. I hate freeways and this drive is great, except when its like this. I don't usually have any problems except when to many cars slid off the road and block it all up. I drive a truck and carry chains but the tranie in my truck went out so I have to drive my lowered blown Bullitt mustang.we usually don't get snow like this until after Dec. We had snow up there the first of Oct.I think the whole country is getting it. So much for global warming I never did buy into that.

Dan... next time you're up that way and have time for a smoke let me know. I live off of 79S. Once in awhile my family and I go to the Cahuilla Creek Casino on Sundays for brunch. It snowed at my house a few saturdays ago... melted in an hour though. I am 1200 ft above sea level.

Marla , when I hit 74 off of 371 I look to the left, thats Idlewild. I turn right 25 min to Palm Desert. Now when I look to the left it will have a hole new meaning! LOL
