This is my oldest son, Danny Jr. at The Big North Texas Toy Run Sunday. This is the third year I've done this ride, and I plan to keep doing it as long as I've got a bike. This is his first toy run. I had three objectives for him: 1) learn the importance of sharing with those less fortunate, 2) learn the generosity and kindness most bikers have, and 3) have a good time looking at a bunch of bikes. He's 9 years old. It was a long day, and I think it pretty much whipped him. I don't think he'll be interested in going next year. His younger brother will be 7 in April. I guess next year is his turn because I still plan to make it.

I know my boys will have a Christmas this year. I like to try to help other kids have a decent Christmas too.

i heard some of the numbers this morning from the toy run.

~ 40,000 bikers
~ $800,000 in toys and monetary donations.

good stuff.

did a 78 mile run 2 years ago in 12 degree weather in december. my bike runs better when its cold.

we didn't have as good a turn out as you, though!

did manage to help alot of less fortunate kids out, though.
