My daughter got her long (16 inches plus) hair cut today - first real hair cut she's had since we adopted her in 2001 - and donated it to the Locks of Love program, which (if you don't know) supplies wigs made from donated hair for kids who've lost theirs for one reason or another.

Great looking kid Eggman,
Great cause as well. I have donated my hair several times over the last few years. A friend made me a t-shirt that has their contact info on the back, with "I'm Not A Hippie, I'm a Hair Farmer" on it.
Have a great day.

Egg - - my daughter donates as well when she gets her long hair cut back . . . makes you kinda step back and realize that you have a good human being living under your roof with you. May God Bless your young one!

I did the same thing. Cut it a while back and mailed it just after Christmas. Did it once before. My resulting 'do is a little different than your daughter's, however.

I keep my hair shaved nearly bald, to provide some cover fire for those who don't have any.

Bless her heart! She looks terrific!

I hope she wasn't too traumatized from it tho'...I always hate it when I decide to chop mine...

Did it recently, and only Wished that I thought about Locks of Love...but, I hi-lite and low-lite my hair on occasion...might not have worked for me.

She has blessed another person with what most of us take for granted! You go girl!

Marla the requirement is that the hair can't be "chemically damaged" so that leaves a bit of wiggle room. Locks of Love doesn't specifically not allow lightened or darkened hair.
