This pic is of the Old "Phantoms" I used to wrench on...

Brings back old memories, removing Areo 7 launchers in "0" degree weather on the flt line... hanging up the gear door to install an Aim 7 missile on the right aft inboard launcher... these old "Pigs" were an EPA nightmare.. but they could haul the mail... they were also a weapons Tech nightmare... first on the flt.line and last to leave a fear of lighting a cigarette or cigar because your clothes wreaked with JP-4 fuel and grease from head to foot ;0)~~~

After moving on to the F-16, I always joked about how you could stuff two F-16's under the wing of these old flying bricks and she would haul'em....

14 yrs working on the F-16 she also is an impressive machine and a sound of America's Freedom!!!!!!

I've seen these come in with brakes so hot they melted the wheels and tires blowing... aircrew would get them whoood and ground egress to the hills for safety, while the maintenence guy's would bed'em down and get'em back in the air!!!

the Good Ol' Days!!!!!

Hats off to Our Military Members 2005!!!!
Air Force, Navy, Army & Marines past and present!!!

Sure brings back the memories, I could stand under the old work horse and the top of my head would touch the bottom of the bird, if I took my flight deck safety helmet, I had a 1 inch clearence. lol
I'll have to post a pic om me standing under a F14

Thanks for the posts!

IMO the Phantom, and later on the Weasels are the best looking military aircraft every made! It always hits me when I see a picture of her, or see her at an airshow..
