Rate the Cigar Contest!

Lance and I have been duking it out lately on the TTT #10 thread. He bombed the crap out of me with twenty sticks and I opened up on him with 20 rounds from my Vulcan Cannon. When the smoke cleared we were both wandering around wonderin’ what the hell hit us! When the cobwebs cleared, we thought it might be fun to have a contest. Below is a list of the sticks we sent each other. The contest is comprised of assigning a value to each of these sticks and coming up with a composite score for each end of the trade.

Scoring will be on a 1-15-point basis (with 15 being the highest possible score) based on YOUR sense of price, quality, availability and taste. For example, I might score a PAM at 15 points based on its high cost, relative scarcity, high quality and knockout flavor. This would be my "benchmark" smoke against which I would compare all others. Someone else may consider the VSG as his or her benchmark against which to measure all others. This makes scoring purely subjective, as is our individual taste in cigars.

Lance and I will use this method to rate OUR ends of the trade. Neither of us will know the other’s score until we have both finished the process. Keep in mind, this isn’t a contest to see whose trade was better, it’s more an exercise exploring our perception of a cigar’s mystique, taste and value.

Each entrant will rate the cigars listed based on THEIR preference and/or perception. After rating each of the 20 sticks, tally up the total for each list to determine the composite (total) score. You should have a score for each of us when you’re finished. These two scores will be you contest entry.

Bucky's got it right. I wish I had not put our names on the list - makes it seem like too much of a competition and that wasn't my point. Lance and I aren't at odds in any way. I for one am very happy to have completed this trade with a fine BOTL.

this was a ttt, and you topped me! (in fine style too). thats what ttt is all about.

with that said, there is no contest between myself and gan.

this is simply personal rating of 1 list of cigars as compared to the other. it is more interesting for us to see how 1 botl rates a group of cigars as compared to the next.


the contest is numbers. just comparison numbers. and somebody is gonna win a number of fine smokes.

Nice sticks from both of you great Brothers. Sorry can't rate them because there are too many in both lists that I haven't tried. Any rating I could come up with would only be my opinion. And as the saying goes... opinions are like A-holes...

As long as you're both happy that's all that counts (how's that for being non-comittal/political).

Let the games continue. No losers only two winners who get to smoke some nice leaf.
