This was a standard in towns everywhere back in those days. If you had a Brownie camera and a pony, you had a door to door business.

Gaddam, there was a guy came 'round once a year with the pony and a camera--I thought my neighborhood was special!
Even as doped-up as the pony looks you couldn't do this today because of the liability.
Ice cream truck once a day, guy selling enchiladas and tamales once a week. Do'nt see this stuff anymore

I think my older brother got one of those pics taken. We have an ice cream van that comes through our neighborhood driven by an Indian Sikh with a really cool beard. It is still fun flagging him down and getting an ice cream bar on a hot day.
