That is amazing. If I killed anything close to this I would probably carry it around in the truck so I could brag daily!!!

The story is probably just as amazing.

Thanks,

OK.. i cant stand it, i give you a brief story lol. My frined thanks me all the time that my ex-wife was a cheating..*&^E. in short.. i got divorced, moved in with another friend, who just happend to live 2 miles from Chris's unckle who owned a big farm that he had never hunted. I needed a place to hunt, so chris called his uncle and hooked me up. Well.. one summer night scouting, this big boy and another walked out into the bean field. Needless to say.. chris had NEVER hunted his unckle's farm.. but was going to now!! haa haa. We put up 4 stands on the farm, and low and behold two weeks into bowseason, i was in my stand and my cell starts vibrating.. it was chris. FREAKING OUT, SWEARING, telling me "I killed that fn buck" . Ill be damned .. he did!!! the think was a horse. He and i have hunted together since we were 5yrs old. 25 yrs later, a dream came true. It was truly an amazing animal

When they get this big, they are usually nocturnal. I have seen some big boys after shooting hours. The ruts have not been like the old days for several years now. I think the weather has a lot to do with the way these big boys act.

Thanks for the story.

I agree. the rut has not been quite the same. The biggest problem here in Ohio (knox, licking counties) is the buck to doe ratio. Our doe population is OUT OF CONTROL. It has gotten to the point where there is no competition for breeding, bucks dont have to move or look for does to breed.. because they are EVERYWHERE. We need to get the ratio back under control. More like a 4-1(4 bucks to 1 doe) as in texas and other places. And get people to quit whacking every year and 1/2 to 2 1/2 yr old bucks they see. We are all members of QDMA. "Quality deer management" Its a great orginization. check out their message on the net

vfrtwice,

My son was going to game management classes. He is pursuing a professional guide career. He totally agrees with this. The does need to be thinned out to allow the bucks to grow to their potential. He is very precise about which ones he kills and where. He is always getting on to my father (old time hunter) about killing the bucks and not the does. For the last 2 years he has taken a 40 acre plot and kept a close eye on all game...thinned out the does and low and behold we have more buck population then we have had in 20 years. We have several large boys visiting our 40. He has actually been watching an 18 pointer that we never knew he was even any where around the property.

As you can tell, I love to hunt. LOL Country girl all the way. I still have to say, I enjoy Turkey hunting the most. The beating of the heart when you spot the deer still ranks up there on the top of the list..LOL

Finally, after a ten or fifteen year absence, we have a full on Archery shop in San Francisco. Pacifica Archery Shop, fully stocked with an indoor range and an electronic video range as well.

Thats cool!!! Chris (my friend in the pic.) and two other guys are coming out with they first hunting video production this fall. Its going to be awesome. I got to see the finished product the other day. The cool part is.. My doe kill last year is the first hunt on the film!! Its some great footage. For a bunch of guys that have dreamed since we were kids of making a video.. it pretty d*mn cool to finally see it come together.
