This was a project I did for another BOTL awhile back... he had an existing cabinet and wanted me to make these shelves and trays to fit it...

posting this for dave(thsdesigns) to see what we were discussing on his thread pic of his Refridgedor' shelves...

I made a jig for my hand held router to cut the slots into the SC in the bottoms of the trays/shelves

Now to get them in the mail to Billy!!!! a long overdue project.... one of many!!!

Very nice Hog, now I know what you were talking about. You obviously have some woodworking experiance.
The bottom of my drawers is 5/8" SC so I was kinda worried about the strength if I made to many holes. I may just attempt this method of only a few slots.

Got some some brothers on this board who are very talented.

Blacky is another one who comes to mind.

5/8" thick.. you wont have anything to worry about in the strength area... thats plenty of support for your cigars... but like I and tornado said on the other thread.. now that you've got them completly built, I would suggest you just drill the vent holes with a forstner bit rather then risk gouging the wood with a router bit.. if it were to slip... these slots are only 1/4" wide which will allow plenty of ventaltation to pass through...

I've tried slots and have a helluva time doing 'em. I prefer forstner bits and a drill press.

I actually posted this to show the slates I put in them for ventilation... this project as I said is for another BOTL who has a cabinet humidor' we worked out the sizes and wood/color match etc. through emails.. I've already sent him two of the finished and have these waiting to head out the door... this is/has been a long overdue project.. I started on this one almost going on 2 yrs ago... and with all the events that have been going on in Mrs. Hogs and my life these past couple years... I just completely finished these up about 4 months back...

MichaelPCo, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to doing... it just takes a bit longer on the first one LOL.... Woodworking is one of the best stress relievers I have found... well next to running down the highway full throttle on a Harley in the middle of the night LOL!!!!!
