Yo Rick:

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN
Benny Meroff

So long sad times
Pull along bad times
We are rid of you at last
Howdy gay times
Cloudy gray times
You are now a thing of the past
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again
Altogether shout it now
There's no one
Who can doubt it now
So let's tell the world about it now
Happy days are here again
Your cares and troubles are gone
There'll be no one from now on
From now on...
Happy days are here again
The skies above are here again
So, Let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy times
Happy nights
Happy days
Are here again!

Everybody sing along !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rick,

Did you make this yourself?

(It is spelled "inauguration")

I did always wonder what it looked like on the inside of those black helicopters....Thanks!

auger A large tool for boring into the earth.

boring Uninteresting and tiresome; dull.

The black helicopters are circling your house as we speak! Better put on the aluminum foil hat (heavy duty one) to avoid the microwave radiation that they are sending your way!

LMAO

TO THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 30's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while
they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing and didn't
get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored
lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and
when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we
took hitchhiking.
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or airbags. Riding
in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one
soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died
from this.
We ate cupcakes, bread and butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it,
but we weren't overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were
back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all
day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then
ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running
into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at
all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround-sound,
no cell phones, no personal computers, no internet or internet chat
rooms..........
We had FRIENDS and we went outside and found them.
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.
We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms and although
we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did
the worms live in us forever.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or
rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little league had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who
didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem
solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of
innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW
TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
And YOU are one of them! CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this
with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers
and the government regulated our lives for our own good.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't
it ?

yes that's the way it was.

and then there were seasons.

one day it was marble season. no one knew why, it just was.

one day it was spud day, again, no one knew why, it just was, and we all grabbed a potatoe from the house, went out into the fields, in our case under the bridge, and we cooked spuds in a fire until they were burnt.

stick ball didn't start at the beginning of baseball season, it just started one day. a few of us went to the five and dime to steal a spauldeen, and a few others stole a broom and cut off the broom part. bingo, stick ball time. over the fence was a double, and up on the roof was an automatic and the hitter didn't have to chase after the ball. that was left to the last kid picked, the kid who played long.

pizza was called pizza pie and it came with cheese. actually you had to pick it up. no one i knew had a telephone.

I am only 27...but Vasmooth I am with you all the way. I teach for a living and get bummed out by the state many of these kids live in. Most of them are on cell phones all the time...most of them do nothing but play video games, and only a select few have IMAGINATION. Remember when we had to make stuff up and pretend things because we didn't have them? Instead these kids can find video games that satisfy their every need. We used to have boundless amounts of energy and we would play from morning until night. Creating huge forts, playing soccer, or baseball. It's not that these kids don't have energy either...its just that now their parents don't force them to expend it. They would rather call it ADD or ADHD and medicate the energy and creativity right out of them. Even though I am only out of high school ten years....it's a comepletely different place.

Agreed on the threadjack thread.

OKAY...ANNOUNCEMENT...EVERYONE OUT THERE DIAGNOSED WITH A.D.D. GET OFF YOUR FAT A$$ AND BURN OFF SOME ENERGY.

EVERYONE WITH A KID WITH A.D.D. GET HIM OR HER OFF THE MEDICATION...THROW IT AWAY. GET THE KID OUT OF THE HOUSE AND OFF THE NINTENDO AND BURN OFF THE ENERGY.

okay...I feel better. Yes I remember having all those things in life and more. Yes we all lost a few friends to the inherant dangers in life...but it happens.

Why in the Hell do i worry when my girls want to go down the block and play? Is it conditioning...or has the world become more sinister?

The World has always been sinister.... The consequences have become a joke and no longer keep people in check. Why should the burgler be able to sue when he breaks a leg while robbing your home? My kid has ADHD. The medication helps. I tell him almost everyday. Pill or no Pill he's still going to behave. Or Else. Fear of Dad and Mom kept me in Line... Love from Mom and Dad Always outweighed the fear. I turned out pretty good, in my opinion. I have my Angels and Demons.
