that's when i was born, in a log cabin in brooklyn, with only candles to read with, and only an open window for air conditioning. had to take a subway 4 miles to get to school. so poor, we had to beg for cream cheese and lox to put on a bagel. you could still get chocolate milk from a brown cow. and milton berle used to come to peoples houses to make us laugh, until tv was invented. the only thing we had to fear was "fear itself", but we were so poor, we couldn't afford it.

Wasn't that "4 miles on the subway to school...uphill....both ways!" ???

I thought you had to walk the 4 miles to school both ways. Anyway you read Rick's post, life seemed more simple and enjoyable!!!!
