The Vintage Casks are the only ones I collect. I have 4 of 9 and hope to have the 5th in the next month or so. My goal is to have 8 of them as CASK 191 is over $8,000 so I have to skip that one.

I have to solace myself with the other 85 scotches in the bar for the moment.

Having only just had my first taste of Balvenie 12 year, just now, I could only imagine what the vintage casks are like. I am really enjoying this 12 year, neat, the only way to savor a fine malt.

actually Dave, a splash (just a little) of water is the ideal way to enjoy scotch......the water releases the bouquet better than when it served neat. This is not my idea, rather something I've read about.

IMO, a few drops are better than a 'splash' ... as little as a single drop makes a difference ...

sonny: i agree. from what i've read about single malt, that's how they enjoy it in the "homeland".

i always ask for one ice cube. just one.

but I just add a couple of drops of spring water, I don't count that. I can't stand Ice, or more than a touch of water.

VERY nice!!! And Happy Birthday!!! I received a bottle of JW Gold for X-Mas and a bottle of JW Green label for my birthday 😃. I have to get to drinkin'!!!! I also read on a website that freezing a rocks glass or even actually putting the bottle of scotch in the freezer is a nice touch. If you don't like ice OR water but would prefer it cold. I think that was on JWs website actually. My friend has a bottle of Blue too which we have every once in a while on special occasions.........that is very very nice. Those are all blended though. I do enjoy the single malts too.

NO way would I add water to this....I like mine on crushed ice. And I never give it time to turn to water.....ha ha Happy BD bro!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been drinking scotch for a really long time and I can tell you there is no "wrong" way to do it. I prefere mine neat at room temp but there are some that benefit from a few drops of water or even an icecube.

Drink it as you enjoy it.

i believe this the real magical place......the real magical island.......at least the northern part

With a bottle like that it will definatly be happy.
I only have a measly 45 bottles. But when my Mom and sister went to Scotland last year. I had them pick me up a bottle of 27 yr. Tamnivulin and a bottle of 29 yr. Ben Nevis.
I opened the Tamnivulin for tosts to my engagment and the Ben Nevis will be for the wedding.
That will make for very happy memories.

Actually I was wrong about the year. I was going from memory.
The bottle I have is the 1975 26 yr. old. It is also cask strength.
Bottle 140 of 255. It comes in a nice wooden box.
