My wife and I went to McDonalds to pick up a couple of burgers and fries. Well, I took two bites in mine and got mostly bread. So this is what we saw after lifting off the bun. It just doesnt seem right, LOL !

My GF and I have boycotted that place for over a year now, and I intend to make it a permanent thing. Their dreck is nauseating and just plain detestable. Their advertising is obviously catered to urban youth, and they harbor the same image as 7-11. I haven't seen the movie "Super Size Me" yet, but I do plan on it as I am NOT loving it.

Funny that you posted this. My girlfriend brought home a fish sandwich from there last night... Bitching the whole way in the house as she proceeded to pitch it on the kitchen table!! To my amazement, it looked like it had been put into a shrinking machine. I think its about time i add them to my boycot list as well. They will fit well beside Duke and Duches gas stations here in ohio!!! When i was in college (this was in 92 mind you), i had a single buck and stopped at D&D for a soda and a reces cup. Well.. i found out that the pop was .73 a can, and the recese cup was .69.A TOTAL RIP OFF!! I was extremeely pissed, but was really craving the snacks. I went out to my car, scrounged the seats for extra change,went back in.. bitched and gave them the money. Well after getting out of traffic and down the road, i excidedly opened my recese cup... only to find i had mold on it. I was furious!!!! From that point on NO MORE D&D!!.. just a little story for you, im sure you can relate!!!!

"Supersize Me" is a real eye opener. Excellent film. There is a great segment in the special features that you should watch. They put different fast foods in sealed jars and watch how the foods break down. Big Mac, Cheeseburger, Fish sandwich, Quaterpounder, fries. They also brought in a burger made with real hamburger patty and some steak fries. The real food started getting moldy after a couple of days. The fast food held out longer. The fries looked EXACTLY the same after 3 months in the jar! I was so discusted after seeing that. Every time I get the craving for fast food I think about those fries.

..granted he was a bit of a light weight with the super-sized double quarter pounder meal.......puking? Really?

That show is a helluva eye-opener though.

far and away, the worst burgers to be found anywhere are at the sign of the golden starches ... the fries are OK, but they're the only thing even remotely worthwhile about the place ... even the soft drinks don't taste right there for some reason ...

Next time, go to Jack in the Box and get a $6 burger

I talk the kids out of McDonalds anytime they ask for it.

Much rather have Hardees or Burger King if it has to be fast food.

In Minnesota, certain places have a burger called the Juicy Lucy. Its two patties put together with cheese in the middle. When you bite into it, you have a big pocket of oozing cheese. Pretty damn good.

Can't get that at McDonalds.

Agree with Mac. I was in California the beginning of last year for a food and wine seminar, and had to try In & Out Burger. My god was it good. Can't get that on the east coast, so I settle for Burger King.

If you use the drive through in Oregon, you might not realize who you are talking to. The communications at the drive through have been outsourced to Idaho, as the minimum wage there is lower. You're talking to an Idahoan in Idaho to order your burger in Oregon. What do they save, maybe ten dollars a day?

You are right. I shoulda had a $6 burger. But that's at carls jr though. Remember I went there with you and Ann and introduced you to them. Now that's a burger!

...and for those who follow Dr Atk***, you can get the $6 burger served without the bun. Haven't tried it thataway myself but it's advertised as an option.

Carl's Jr. is prob'ly the best of the massburgers IMHO. For those in the East Valley (Phoenix 'burbs), tho, Ted's Hot Dogs in Tempe (one-off joint, not a chain) is the place to go for burgers... hand-pressed and broiled on real charcoal... they also have AWESOME dogs and brats and white-hots, (hence the name)

Duh!! ... I've been getting one or two of those per month at lunchtime for that past year and a half ... even if I HAD forgot the first one (which I didn't), you'd think I'd have it figured out where it was I was getting them, wouldn't you?

The other guy ... Jack ... he makes a pretty decent burger too ... which is also a lot better than MacD's, but aren't they ALL ?? ...

Well, MacD DOES sell one hell of a lot of burgers, so there's obviously a great many folks who disagree with me on this, but I honestly can't think of a single burger that'd rank lower on my taste scale ...

I figure that a GOOD fast food burger should at least resemeble something that you'd serve at a cookout in your back yard. McDuck's are the farthest from that I can imagine.

A few folks mentioned In & Out in Calif. About 10 years ago or so I read raves about them, but they were only in Southern Calif. On a business trip down South back then, I tried a few and absolutely loved them. Now they are here in Northern Calif. I've tried several places, and they just seem average.

Oh well... Anone care to start a thread about Cheesesteak?:-)
