Beautiful Andy. What I wouldn't give to be out on the water right now fishing and smoking a stogie.

I do apologize, I'm not much of a fisher, but what the hell are those? LOL I'm sure it's nothing some fire and a little salt and pepper can't take care of.

I call them "TASTY!" My favorite fish. The Fish House Veracruz (San Marcos and Carlsbad) serves this fish grilled over mesquite. I wonder if they're busy tonight?

Bassdude,

I head down to FL about twice a year to fish. My little bro lives in Homestead (right above the Keys), and my mother lives in Melbourne (where I grew up) which is on the Indian River.

When I am lucky enough to get a tourney invite (through my brother)its free, otherwise we will charter or go out with a buddy (more expensive than a charter, and twice as blurry). With my work schedule and what not, its a pretty spontaneous trip, but when I settle down there someday, I'd love to do a fish-n-herf trip.

Badger - yeah, I grew up in FL, but now live in Pittsburgh (my family's roots are from here). Can't wait until my wife allows us to move back!

BMW - These fish are absolutley spectacular when alive & underwater. I haveyet to see a camera image that captures their luminesence. I would have liked to get some pics of these nice cows when we gaffed them, but they were a double hookup and things were tense. I got bruised pretty badly by one goin ape-sh&t in the boat.

They really are an amazing fish. I've heard they top out at close to 55 mph. Anything that can catch flying fish mid flight is impressive to me.

so true.....man, they are absolutely beautiful right out of the water, but turn dingy yellow after sitting on ice. Helluva dancer during the fight as well.

Nice Cows ... When did you catch them? I always used to get big pairs in the winter. Summer months are usually full of small schoolies. Once we crossed over to Bimini and the schoolies over on the Bahama side of the Gulf Stream were large. Not a one under 30 lbs.

jET,

This was July last year in Islamorada. The dolphin bite was REAL thin, so we headed about 35 miles east and found these two around some debris. Also hit a nice school that day and pulled in about a dozen schoolies.

Very Cool ... Did you ever fish the Hump? My 1st trip there was incredible. About 30 boats out there, and all had a big bite going on. From Sails, to Dolfin, to Amberjacks, Sharks, Big Grouper, Big Snappers ... you name it. Great Fishing in the Keys. Biggest Cudas I have ever seen ...
