Well, the old newbie trade thread was getting a little long, so I thought best to start a new one.

It doesn't seem that we have a organized scheme as in the past, but none the less, newbies I believe are being taken care of.

Newbies, if interested in getting your trading feet wet here's what you should do.

Post a message on here with your email address and interest in one of the vets helping you in learning how trades are done. We will help with any and all questions concerning cigars, trades, humidors, packaging, shipping...etc.

Remember normally we will ask you to ship first as the new guy, then respond with a nice assortment of smokes for you to try. Great way to get a variety of smokes to find out what your tastes are.

And to all new guys and gals....welcome to the Cbid forums!

Jason, I am glad you liked the selection. I enjoy giving the newb's some very tip notch smokes to help them get involved in some activities. I'd be interested in a trade or two, since I've not done one, but it's only fair that I provide the would-be tradee with some info about me.

Although I've enjoyed cigars very, very infrequently in the last 10-20 years, I didn't even bother to own a humidor until this past December. Just bought cigars as I intended to smoke them. I'm getting a bit more serious about it now, but am for all intents and purposes a rank newbie - and I recognize that.

I am still in the "experimenting" stage, trying to figure out what brands and types of cigars I like, or if I am even that particular, so I've been buying what I can get in CI/CB samplers, 5--packs, or what seem to be good deals in the CB auctions. Haven't really bought any full boxes yet because I don't want to commit to something I find out later I can't stand, though I guess that's where trading could help out?

So far, the one cigar I've had that I would buy a box of is CAO Black. (Who wouldn't, right?) Been watching CB, hoping to snag a box relatively cheaply but haven't yet.

The only cigars I have 5 or more at this point (i.e., a tradable quantity) would be:

I recognize that none of these is a big-league premium like a Graycliff or CAO Black, so I can't blame anyone not interested in a trade.

If I have two or more of something else, I'd be willing to trade one for something I haven't tried (which is most anything at this point). For sentimental reasons (my late great-grandfather's favorite) I would be thrilled if someone wanted to trade me for an "El Verso Bouquet"... even if it's a crap machine-made cigar, because I've never had one and they were his favorite.

Perdomo's, IT's, CAO, Cuesta-rey. Thank you my brother, these will bring some smiles. This guy lives up to his word and then some. Neither me or my true identity will hesitate to trade with him.

The only thing I'm concerned about is that some in my package to you are similar to what you sent. I hope I included enough variety to sample and not a bunch of "already have those." Let me know after you get them.
