calibrate yur hygrometer. throw away the credo or whatever toy you are using to keep it wet and make your own humidifier. in the mean time open the humidor and stir the cigars if you need info re calibration and making a humidifier, contact me [email protected]

Ditto to Rickmaven; also leave the drain plug open on your cooler. I had a similar problem until I started leaving the drain open all the time. Now it maintains 69-72%. Good luck

I have had the same problem lately. My drain plug has been open since setup, and my homemade humidifiers (per RM) are empty, but it is still over humidified. For the last several days I have not snapped the lid shut and it is perfect now. That is the only drawback to coolerdors.

not to jump in with the obvious, but the more cigars you have in your coolordor, the easier it is to keep the humidity at the proper level. or even better, fill your coolordor with boxes of cigars. when I first got my coolordor going, it ran very high in the humidity department (I even, gasp, had some mold appear on some of my cigars). so, I began getting as many cigars and boxes of cigars as possible. now everything is going well, and I have an excuse to give my wife everytime I get new cigars. "Honey, I have to get this box of cigars or my other ones will be ruined"

you guys don't remember the old days when you stopped at a cigar store and bought one or two for the weekend.
no enough cigars to last a lifetime or two with 7 different humidors, 5 different cutters, 6 lighters, and at least 5 holders made of leather or wood or aluminum.

To keep mine properly tuned I leave the drain open and don't completely shut the lid. Check the conditions about every other day.

woodbutchr: add some distilled water when they dry out. the pg is good for a year or so.

Rick, as soon as I am satisfied that everything is stable I will refill my humidifier. I am thinking of going with 50/50 to keep if from happening again. Anybody agree/disagree?

I ra out of 50/50 once, and tried some half/half. Tasted a bit milky.

woodbutchr: what were you using if not 50/50?

You should be using 50/50,straight water is probably the bulk of your problem.6x3x3 is a bit large but 50/50 should do the trick.
