I love eating catfish. I like fishing for them as well. Just a 20 pounder or so.

I like catching them more than I do eating them. I have never been able to get the muddy taste out of them. I also prefer not to eat anything that comes out of the rivers around here. I live just down stream from a nuclear reactor.

yep love to catch and eat em. They do not tatse muddy if the come from clean water - unless you are eating yellow bellies or mud cats. Stick with Channel, Blue, and Flatheads.

Maybe it's the proportions. I'm 6'4" and around 310lbs. It weighed over 18 on the scales. It's one of the bigger ones we've pulled from the pond next door.

Dude, you look like you're about to eat it right out of the water, LOL.

Nice catch.

Yeah- I'm with bassdude.. I catch blues, channels.. stick with decent clean moving water.. also wouldnt recommend eating large ones.. they are bottom feeders and acumulate toxins in their fat over the years.. fillet them, skin them, and trim all the belly fat.. and yes.. watch out for thos d!$n barbs ! can cause nasty infections to humans.. VERY good eatin'..

I fish for them in Michigan in the Saginaw Bay.. what you guys use for bait.. We use either a wad of nightcrawlers or packaged catfish "bait".. have heard of people making homemade bait out of chicken scraps
and flour or something..

Catfish get a bad wrap depending on the region.. kind od like carp.. you want a good fight, try fly fishing for a 20-30lb'er
