This pic was taken in a bar off the beatin path of the main streets and lights of Tokyo... we had probably walked 30 miles all through the city this day on a 24 hr run by 3 AF guy's catching the sites and sounds of Tokyo Japan... we stuffed our bags in a locker at the main airport and was given a 24 hr pass to see Tokyo before we rendezvoused back with the main party to head back to the USA... we had seen the Imperors Palace, Harley Shop, scaled up the Tokyo Tower, seen the summo wrestling areana, Tokyo Dome, and many other sites during the day.. now at nightfall we were heading back to the airport almost broke and going to see the repungi (sp) district on our way back through before we caught a tram back to the main terminal where are bags were at... we found this place and wasn't going to go inside because it didn't have an American flag hanging on the windows and some of the Japanise folks were a little unfriendly with us earlier in the day... the bar owner.. woman seen us outside looking in and she opened the door and motioned for us to come on in... we did and ordered a beer and listened to karaoke sang by the locals American Songs... it was nice to rest our feet and another beer came round... soon we were invited to join this nice group of Locals and discussions started in about America,Japan, WW II, just about everything in General.. it was good conversation and interesting to hear about the war from the other side of the coin... we spent about 3-4 hrs visiting and drinking On the House (Thanks to the Gentlemen in the Suits) and then it was time to get headed out.. after midnight 1 am who knows??? the lil ms. in the pic sitting next to me kept moving her hand up my leg to my crotch area... I would smile and slide it back down and show her my wedding band (fisrt wife) soon her hand would be moving back up as we all talked and laughed (I got this on video also and it is funny to go back and watch) I don't know what was going on and the other two guys with me didn't understand either.. but these guy's offered to put us up in a hotel for the night on them?? that was when everything started seeming a bit strange and our Q to head out!!!
Adroomi maybe you could explain this one above??

anyway memories of this Trip and the 19 days I spent in Japan are forever forged in my head....

Looking at the pic Hog...you could pass for Japanese....or was it the beer.

Sounded like an excellent way to pass 24 hrs.

Great story!

btw, I remember Adroomi saying something to the effect that Japanese women yearn for a bit of kissing the sushi platter...Japanese men won't do it...he said to whisper in their ear that you like to kiss them all over...wink-wink...

Betcha that she was hoping to get a good lookin' Amelican stud like you warmed up to help her find the netherlands....hehehehe!

But thats just me.......................Marla

E-Chick....you hit it on the money me thinks. At least that's how I seem to get dragged into it. It's a tough job, but fortunately I love to do it.

Hog, it sounds like a good time. You definately got to see some of the city in your short stay, and probably had a great time wandering lost through the alleys and streets. I'm glad you got to see the good side of a good people.

You will come across Japanese that aren't too friendly to foreigners when it comes to allowing you in their bars. It's not so much that they are prejudiced, but more so the fact that they are scared of you and the conflict that may occur should you come inside. Certain bars can get very expensive, and there are also certain etiquettes that are involved depending upon the place. Generally foreigners are not either aware of the high costs, or the protocol, so they don't allow non-Japanese in. This is to avoid the embarrassment they will have when you look at your $1000 bar tab and pass out. Also, if there is a certain theme in the bar, you might not fit in. There is also a very large underground in Tokyo. This underground includes the mafia. It also includes some of the seedier side of life. I've been turned around at the door of many a place, but once I let them know that I speak the language, they usually let me in.....if they don't, then I probably don't need to be in there in the first place. It's probably trouble.

The place you are in looks like a normal restaurant/pub. The gents are most likely normal businessmen, but due to their age are high in the food chain. The female (based upon her clothes) most likely works at their company. Probably an admin girl, or secretary or something. She's out drinking with the bosses (why? because she's pretty of course). Her behavior was very typical. She liked you and wanted to take a roll in the hay with you. Like E-chick says, she probably had dreams and visions of finding out if it's true that some men actually do like to go "down under." In Tokyo, there's not a lot of "game playing" that goes on. People that are mature enough to have sex, have sex. If two folks like each other and want to do it, then by all means, let's go do it.....why waste time with small talk? We have a little joke here. We have a two drink maximum. If after two drinks, the odds seem low of "calling it a night," and heading out the door, then you move onto the next one. That's for guys that are just out to "score." I don't care to behave that way....not really a one night stand kind of person (it's much better after the 3rd, 4th, or 100th round).

It looks like you had a good time. At least you had some good Kraft cheese to go with your wine anyway. You drank free courtesy of some good timing gents, and were hit on by a classy gal that wanted your bod......what more can you ask for?

we staggered out of that bar and found an underground bar further on up the road closer to the Repungi (sp) district as I was saying earlier... but in the pictures I got it doesn't show the other guys present with these businessmen... but on video these guys not shown were packin.. this also alerted us as 1 they were either body guards or 2 these guys were some kinda mob mixes... later in discussion they were found to be body guards and I still have the business cards from 3 of the older gentlemen... when we got back out on the street leaving the place... all 3 of us had to gain composure because what we'd been told about Japan.. you can go to jail for "loss of face" being drunk? we were drinking German Rhine Wine along with the beer we had earlier.. Good Stuff.. as I said earlier also I was still married at the time and never played around... Opppsssss Ohhhhh hindsight LOL

Yes, you must have had a good time. There was money at that table with you that night. The girl probably had it on her Daddy's side, and could've paid your bills and kept you in silk boxers for a few years. Not to mention, that once the lights go out you will see a timid Japanese lady turn into something you have only ever read about. I'm talking bouncing off the walls fun! Just hold on for eight seconds and call yourself a cowboy.

Hog, looks like you had a good time. I never made it to Tokyo, Just Kure. I didn't care for it much.
Adroomi, Thanks for your first post. I don't mean to thread jack, but I was in Kure Japan in 1991, and we walked around for over an hour trying to find a drink without success. I always thought that it was prejudice, but now I am thinking maybe it was just culturalal differences.

Thanks,
Que

Great pic Hog, seems like we've eaten alot of the same dirt. I was at Yakota AB, Japan from 93-95. My first night there me and a couple of guys hopped a train and headed into Tokyo, however I didn't make it to Rapongi (sp) til several weekends later. We had a small "red-lite" district about 2 blocks from the base where we'd usually party til 6am then go over to the Ramen house and eat enough to soak up some of the booze. The best part about the bars and clubs there, is that if you started a bottle and didn't finish that night they'd just label it and hold it for you til the next time you came in. Oh, yeah and of course you gotta love the beer machines on the streets.
