Anybody love these as much as I do? This, in my opinion, is as full-bodied and flavorful as a non-cuban can get. Hard to find but worth the hunt! $8-10 per stick but a better value then the Opus X!(again, in my opinion).

Yes, I must agree the VSG is an awesome smoke. Fuente has produce a winner. The Robb Report rated the Ashton VSG as the best cigar. The article is in last months issue, I think. I think at $200 a box, they are money well spent, though not for everyday consumption!

Where can I get some of these? I don't want a whole box just one or two to try.

try your local tobacconist, but I don't think they are available at present. I bought a box when they first arrived, and then sold out in a flash, and I see Fuente is advertising it again in CA, so perhaps new shipments are on their way, I haven't searched, but I doubt it is easily available over the internet.

I agree, the Ashton VSG Torpedo is one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. Check out www.holts.com
they will allow two VSG's per week, fair price! Also, the Fuente Don Carlos is an awesome cigar.

Excellent cigar. Just wish it was a little stronger. That seems to be the curse of the Ashton line.

I agree. This is the first from the Ashton line that has caught my attention. I'm curious though....if you
wished the VSG was stronger, what non-cuban cigar(s) do you find stronger?

Bahia gold maduro, CAO annv Maduro, Canaria D'oro Rothchild maduro come to mind first. The Ashton is tastey, but I think I expected a fuller smoke. Would smoke again.

IMHO this line is overrated and overpriced. At least based on my experience with the illusion.

I just smoked my first VSG tonight...very enjoyable smoke. I enjoyed it better than my last Opus X (not a big fan of the Opus). I would smoke again, but only if I was able to get them at a resonable price or gifted. Like the Opus I think it is not a good value for the money. I have also come to the conclusion that my tastes lean heavily toward the Nicaraguan (sp?)smokes. Like the Padron Aniversario and some of the other top notch Nicaraguan brands. I think there are many good top shelf cigars to be had in the U.S., so it really just boils down to personal taste and what you are willing to pay to satisfy that taste.

WWW.Holts.Com out of Phila. is the owner of the Holts label, and Fuente is a 30% owner of Holts. They just expanded their warehouse to double it's size. This is why they always have Fuentes in stock, and they're one of the few websites that always has VSG's.

I really like these gars a lot. Bought one and was saving it for a special occasion (12 bucks for a sorceror at my local) and then got gifted one. Then my step-father came in and we went out to dinner and he picked us each up one so I finally smoked one and boy was it worth it. Not too strong but I thought it was very full flavored and extremely enjoyable. Definately a special occasion cigar as I can't smoke a 10 dollar cigar every day but they are definately high on my list of gars.

A great cigar, IMO. Not all that "strong" but has a tremendous amount of flavor. Really good after a meal that's on the light side, i.e., pasta, with a nice white wine. But, I get carried away.........
