My oldest setting up the battle. This is a regular thing. It's amazing how you can buy a child hundreds of dollars worth of Rescue Heroes, Blues Clues, Little People...and he still reverts to the $.99 bag of plastic army men and a cardboard box.

The best fortifications were always the styrofoam packaging pieces that were molded to the shape of what was being protected....then, with a jacknife, you cut loopholes for your snipers, position your troops, and using M&Ms, shell the position...excellent!

However...don't forget Gen. Patton's maxim that fixed fortifications are a tribute to man's stupidity.

I have some Oasis that works well. You can't see it in this pic.

I want to build him a table and have a mountainous scene with bunkers and cliffs, and a few pill boxes.

Cute little guy, even has his camo on for the battle!

Plasric Army Men ....... best toys EVER! I can't tell you how many hours I spent as a kid fighting tremendous and heroic battles with my Army men collection. If I'm ever blessed with a son he'll get Army men toys for sure!
Way to go! Your little guy looks like he's having a blast playing with 'em (Now tell the truth --- you're having a good 'ole time teaching "defensive strategy" (playing) to the little guy, huh?)

I agree with Big Tony ... I bet my mom thought that 99cents was the best/cheapest baby sitter she ever had. Hours of fun with those army men.

Man I'm with Big Tony on this one also... I had a huge box of army men when I was growing up and had all the tanks in different nations... American, German, Japanise...Vietnam was still going on... and I even had vietnam soldiers...I would spend sun-up to sun-down building forts and the whole 9 yards... and 4th of July was the best time to play... Fireworks made for some awsome battles!!!! LOL

and then there was the Hotwheel tracks... when I didn't get all my toys picked up I felt that hotwheel track for sure on my Azz!!!!!!!!!!
