WOW! Talk about your classy collection! I wish the owner was a REALLY good friend; I'd be stopping over for frequent visits. Thanx for a good pic, Rick. Paul

Great idea, but how do you keep them from getting mold on them? Don't humidors have to "breathe?"

TubeDoc (you a Urologist?), That looks like an old Fridgidaire.Or maybe a Kelvinator. The door seal on that baby hasn't been tight since Nixon resigned. What a great idea! Just think how cool an old icebox would look!

You are looking at it the wrong way... It is a cooler... Commonly refered to as a Colman-idor.
I have read a bit about them...
Most don't have a true seal on them anyway... but many people will drill a small hole to let them "Breath".

I don't know guys, this photo still bothers me. Look at the selection of cigars in that cooler! 858, Hemingways, Partagas 150s!? I find it strange to spend so much on premiums and put them in a $15 plastic cooler. Hell....the digital hydrometer cost more than the cooler!

Yes sknit, I realized my error after posting. Must have been a little bleary eyed. Wrong size too. I still like the ice box idea. I have seen the wooden stand type, copper lined, on ebay. They are nice and some of them are not too expensive.

Never heard one called a 'Coleman-idor' ... the most common name for these is 'coolerdor'

I believe that is in reference to the diminutive actor, Gary Coleman.

Gary Coleman??? Does he smoke cigars??? A churchill would look like a baseball bat in his mouth! Charlie

In a Coleman-idor, you can comfortably store Gary Coleman, indefinately, with little or no degradation.

Back in the day when "Diff'rent Strokes" was still a bestseller, MAD magazine did a spoof in which Mr. Coleman was a BIG-TIME smoker.
