Got a surprise package from DBIII today and it's filled with some of my favorite beer: Porter. Woohoo - is there anything beer can't do????

Look forward to trying these beers from Colorado. And, got a tasty 5er to boot! Thanks for goodies - I'm saving the beer for the NBA playoffs!2798350.jpg

Can't wait to try to Porters!!!!! When possible, I do drink Black Butte Porter on tap (very delicious). I've never tried a vanilla so it will be a new taste.

Alright somebody needs to teach me how to ship beer properly. I sent some to DCLover and 1 broke. How do you keep it from breaking?

Rick - You need to wrap each beer in bubble wrap. Then, take 2-3 beers and tape them together so they can't rattle. Make sure the box is sturdy and there is padding all around the box. It's also good to place the wrapped bottles in a small trash bag and tie the bag off to limit leakage if breakage occurs.

I've mailed plenty of booze over the years and never had any break. Of course, it's illegal (according the U.S. Post Office) to mail alcohol and they usually ask me when I mail. So, make sure you can't hear shloshing when you move the box. My post people listen for the shloshing and jack me. I usually tell them it's olive oil.

As he said tape is critical. I usually tape them to the bottom of a box and then put that box in another box.

Well maybe not critical but helpful.

I've received quite a few bottles in trade. I've received 2 that were proken and both were packaged pretty poorly. I've NEVER had a bottle break that was wrapped in bubble wrap.

selfevident, and everyone else, shipping beer is illegal. You can ship "yeast samples" 😉 but not beer.

FYI, if you are shipping beer from a brewpub, or small brewery, ship it in a 1 liter plastic soda water bottle. Then it's unbreakable.
