I do hope the bill is dead, and I had heard that the bill number given might be wrong, but you can count on California crazies to keep trying to make possession of tobacco a felony. BTW, I am a native Californian, and miss it bad, except for the tobacco hysteria and the freeways, but currently living in D/FW.

I think that the bill referenced is called the "Cigars Are No Safe Alternative Act"--I forget the Senate and House reference numbers, but last session it had been stuck in committe in both chambers. Not only will it prohibit internet cigar sales, it will prohibit any cigar sales that allow self-service to the consumer, such as selecting smokes from a walk-in retail humidor.
I don't think that it's a high priority for Congress.
