Hey that is Rusty..

He started hanging around when I first married Hog. As
you can see he loved the bird feeder. He would sit by the front door each morning waiting for me to come out and do my gardening. He got to where he would follow me around the yard. I crossed the road one day going to my mother in laws and he followed me. Before he got across the road he got ran over by a car. I cried my eyes out.

That's too bad he got hit. I have a real problem with ground squirrels at my house.( Yours was a beautiful tree squirrel) They eat my grass and are covered with fleas that can carry the plague. The home owners association is supposed to poison them . I would come home and there would be 20 of them on my grass and bird feeders. I have like 10 feeders, I buy A LOT OF seed. I got a live trap to trap them and let them go. after the third one in a day after taking down to the nature preserve by our house I told my son Colton to fill the wheel barrow full of water and drop the trap in. I paid him a dollar a squirrel, he made like 70 bucks last summer. Spring is here so we should start seeing young one's on the grass soon. I have a few air guns ( I have regular gun's but that would not go over too big were I live) My newest one is a BSA 22 Techstar with a Leapers varmint scope. I can pick fleas off the bastards A**! Colton has killed his first one all ready with a gun. I have a neighbor that catches them and lets them go in the common area below my back yard that is about 2 acres of trees and rocks with squirrel burrows. If she only new what happened to them. LOL. Mrs. Hog I would never shoot a tree squirrel but ground squirrels are a big problem, vermin, like rats I have them also living next to a avocado grove. Rats that eat avocados get HUGE!

MACS, if you read this we need to smoke some ISOM soon. My collection is getting close to yours, ask HOG. LOL, I haven't been shinning you on I'm just really busy in the spring, summers almost here!!! I want to Go to Dripping Springs camp ground some weekend about 10 minutes past your house just past Vail lake but I saw it is closed till June 1 because of a toad , The Arro Seco Toad I guess its endangered . What a bunch of tree huggin freaks in this State. I mean I love nature, I was even a member of the Sierra club at one time. Peoples homes are burning down because they can't clear the brush away from there house because of a freakin rat. Any how that's another thread. LOL ,That was long...............

Dan, you got the number. Use it.

Russ... Rusty woulda died long before that car got to him... 🙂

Oh and Dan, if you got squirrel trouble, I got a pellet gun (which will kill them just fine) and a .22 with a scope zeroed in to 100 yds for just such an occasion... lemme know what you wanna do.

Marlin 60SB with a maine birch stock, stainless steel barrel and a bushnell scope. It was my son's 11th birthday present. I know, I know... I was a year late with it.

We had a rat infestation on the farm when I was a kid.... The owner mixed Plaster of Paris with Quaker Oats and the little buggers died of constipation. Sad but true.

Dapperdan.........

I couldn't imagine squirrels eating avocados......I've seen what happens when dogs eat them.....YUCK!!!!!

Not to jack the thread but I have a funny story regarding animal control (the old fashioned way);

When I was a high school kid, I bussed tables at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club, which is full of old rich bastards. One of the particularly old and nasty ones was complaining to the bartender one morning (yes...they all drank in the morning) about pigeons in his boathouse crapping all over his restored sailboat.

The bartender knew that I enjoyed hunting, so he put me in touch with this guy. We worked out a deal; $5 for every dead pigeon I could produce. I got my pellet gun and a net (not safe to use a .22) and followed directions to his home.

I went into this very honestly....I'd shoot two or three pigeons, net them out of the water from the fall, and get paid....then I'd dump them somewhere. It was GREAT for beer money.

This went on for a few weeks and during one visit, I met his Granddaughter. She was very attractive, very sweet, and quite nice to me. I enjoyed her company. We were talking out in the yard one day and he charged out of his house like I was a mutt humpin his prize poodle! He wouldn't allow her to even talk with me......what a jerk. A busboy wasn't good enough for his little angel.

Soooooooooo.........I started paying a little visit to the local causeway before I went to the house. I'd nail 5-6 pigeons from under the bridge and smuggle them into his boathouse, pretend I shot them, and get paid while live pigeons were crapping all over his boat.

Threadjack OFF.

Andy
