I recently went with solar landscaping lights in my back yard. So far, so good. Have any of you had solar lights for a long time? These are aluminum and plexiglass.

we have low voltage for uplighting the trees in the rear, adn lights in the pond - personally, i don't like the blue light, nor the low level of lumens from solar.
our system has been bulletproof so far ( 7 yrs +) just now replacing lightbulbs on occaison. intend to add more around the outside of the pond and along the new patio (when we get that in this fall or next spring).

I have low voltage lighting in my front yard. I've had that set for nearly 15yrs. Like you say, just replace a bulb now and then. In my back I dont need light to see walkways or anything like that. These solar lights are more for looks than anything else. A nice accent at night...

Rick, maybe he has a lot of drive by shootings at his place, and his lighting has survived them...

I have solar in the back yard, and they are great for a couple of years and soon wear out! I am on my second set. The ones you show look like the 15 light set from Costco ($98) and that is a good deal! Mine came from Home Depot, first set was an early version from Costco, not very good! Still have the jury our on this current one!

flood lights are not fancy lights, but they light up my entire back yard.

i have two floods under that canopy in the back so i can read at 4:00am if i want to enjoy the night air.

i also have one set of sensor lights that go on when i open the back door and walk a few steps. they stay on for ten minutes.

in the back, as i approach toby's doll house, there is another set of sensor lights that go on to light the area. i think i didn't post a picture of her doll house.

third set of sensor lights are under a carport canopy i have to protect toby's scion from sun fade.

sensor light kits are about $20.00 and if you are handy, you can wire them yourself. the floods can be as low as 45W or up to 150W. floods last almost forever.

i do have some malibu lights that are a pain because the bulbs need replacemen too often and the funky covers seem to fall off every time the gardner or the water softner guys are here.
