When I relate to some of my friends that I participate in several on-line BBSs, they generally say that they thought this was primarily the arena for younger people. So, I'm curious. How many people at this forum will confess to being 60+.

still have many years to reach that point...but I also find it interesting and helpful as well. Many of us benefit from the experience that especially you provide. And, truthfully, I wish I was nearer to 60 than I am....both my wife and I feel we were born about twenty years too late. We love rock music and feel we missed out on a great period in history... I was too young to go on tour with the Grateful Dead, to ever see Neil Youngs "Tonights the Night" tour, my wife will never get to see Led Zepplin or David Bowie in their prime...there is a movie about the time called "Almost Famous" and both of us cry every time because we wish we were there. Then again, I have friends who were old enough to go on tour with the Grateful Dead and found themselves 40 years old, with very few options left in life after Jerry died. I guess its an even trade, but if somehow we could travel back in time....we would.

I haven't hit 60 yet but I did just receive my first invitation to join AARP. I guess that means I'll have to act like a grownup now.

Getting mail from AARP is no reason to start acting all grown up ... hell, I don't act grown up and I've been getting stuff from them for years now ...

I am old enough to remember seeing Oswald shot on live TV. The first reality show

You don't stop playing because you grow old

You grow old because you stop playing

Shut up Steve!

EI - That brings up such a flashback! When I was a very little girl, I remember the flags being at half-mast. I asked my father why they forgot to put them all the way up and he told me someone shot the president. It stuck with me all those years because he was so solemn.
