I got a call from Bob on Friday telling me it was all ready pick up. He very graciously agreed to meet me at his shop on Sunday morning as that was the only time during the next few weeks I would be able to make the trip. I left the house around 7AM and reached his shop around 10:30AM. Let me just say that if you have never smelled a warehouse full of Spanish cedar, well, you are missing out. It smelled SO GOOD! Anyhow, Bob was just as nice as could be. He enthusiastically helped me take the humidor out of the shipping crate it was in so that I could take a look at it. I could tell he took just as much pride in my humidor as he would have one with much more expensive exotic wood. He even made a few tweaks to the screw that would hold the Set & Forget unit (he glanced inside the humidor and said "That screw is about 1/3 a turn to tight, let me fix it for you." He obviously knows and loves his work. Anyhow, he helped me load it into the car and then we chatted for about ten minutes. Again, it was an absolute pleasure to meet him in person. After that I hauled butt back to Round Rock as fast as I could - anxious to get it home. I got it all setup last night and started seasoning it. Within two hours it was rock solid at 65% and has been kicking on about every hour or so for about a minute as it gradually stabilizes. I have noticed that the time between bursts of humidity are getting bigger and bigger. Should be able to start loading it in the next day or two. I will post some more pictures when I do. Another incredibly PLEASED customer!

Do a Google search for Aristocrat Humidors. I am pretty sure I am not supposed to give the URL out on this forum.

I know it might be rude to ask, but what was the approximate cost of the one you had made? The closest one on their website was going for around $500. Is that close?

Thanks,

jcwbnimble.

Not rude at all.

With the Set and Forget system this unit was $849 plus $35 for the sliding shelf (which is not standard) That puts the grand total $884. Since I live in Texas I also paid sales tax (8.25%) I can already tell you it was way worth the money.
