I don't know what's worse:

Having friends that are murdering thugs.

Or ratting them out to save your own skin.

Loser.

Said it before and I'll say it again....get rid of the thugs and murderers in the NFL and you won't be able to field a team... Gets a little old hearing the "Baltimore is a Group of Convicts" refrain....

The proof of the pudding is in the tasting-

2005- Indianapolis Colts CB Nick Harper waived his right to an initial hearing and was not required to appear in court Wednesday, June 22. He is facing a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. And then there is the incident with Mike Doss being suspended for firearm charges. And I'm sure some of you will remember back around the Pro Bowl when Marvin Harrison and three men were accused of attacking three boys who were trying to get autographs.

Carolina Panthers- Rae Carruth (murder) — a former wide receiver charged in the shooting of Cherica Adams — his girlfriend — and her unborn child.

Miami Dolphins- Cecil Collins (burglary) — a running back for the Miami Dolphins, charged with felony burglary after he allegedly broke into his neighbor's home.

Indy Colts- Steve Muhammad (domestic battery) — a defensive back for the Indianapolis Colts, charged with the alleged beating of his wife, just days before she died from labor complications.

Cincinnati Bengals - Matt O'Dwyer (assault and disorderly conduct), charged with third-degree assault and two counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly inducing a brawl in a bar on Long Island, N.Y.

Colts and Jets- Arrested outside of a bar in Seaside Heights, N.J., with New York Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet, Colt Keith Elias was charged with both disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Miami Dolphins- David Boston (2002 Drug Possession and DUI, pleaded no contest)

Miami Dohphins- Mark Duper (1989 Accused of Rape, charges eventually dropped, 1994 charged with buying cocaine with intent to sell)

Miami Dolphins- Right Tackle - Leon Searcy (2001, spousal abuse, battery)

Pitt Steelers - Center - Mike Webster (1999 forging prescriptions)

Miami Dolphins- Left End - Demetrius Underwood (2003 robbed man in wheelchair - found incompetent to stand trial)

Oakland Raiders - Kicker - Sebastian Janikowski (2000, 2001, 2002 bribery, possession, DUI)

Dallas Cowboys – WR - Dedric Ward (2001 accused of drugging and raping a woman, charges dropped)

San Fran 49ers - RB - Lawrence Phillips (1996 domestic assault, 2003 sexual assault)

New O Saints - RB - Lamar Smith (2003 tried for vehicular assault and DUI)

KC Chiefs - Corner - Patrick Surtain (2000 DUI)

Steelers – WR - Plaxico Burress was arrested on a charge of public intoxication in Virginia Beach, Va. His brother, Carlos Burress, was arrested at the same time on a felony charge of assault and battery on a police officer.

NY Jets - DL Shaun Ellis - (2000) Defensive end Shaun Ellis was charged with felony assault of a woman a year ago and pleaded guilty to a reduced charge, misdemeanor assault.

Minn Vikings- WR - (2002) Randy Moss charged with two misdemeanors instead of a possible felony for allegedly pushing a traffic officer a half-block with his car.

And that is just a taste......

Funny how the team with longest list is not included on your list there CS!

BAL (or Original Brownies) has more thugs, criminals and troublemakers thank any other team in the league.

BTW - Webster (who was not a current Steeler) was dying and had severe brain damage when he was charged in 1999 and Plaxico was charged with carrying an open container of beer, not public intoxication.

MITB- You are missing my point....I am not denying that there are thugs on the Ravens...what I am saying is that it is endemic in the NFL. Take a look at the Miami Dolphins' current roster if you doubt my point.

Yes I am a Ravens fan and season ticket holder. But I am also a realist. Try to separate yourself from your Browns or Steelers fandom, whichever it is, and admit that the NFL is what it is. It is a microcosm of the socio-economics from which many of its players come.

Also, why do I think that if Ray or Jamal Lewis played for your team....you would be the one defending them instead of ripping them? JMHO

wvwa34- You are on! Should be two hard fought games this year. Roethlisberger and the sophomore jinx. Baltimore moving back to the 4-3 defense and an unproven QB that finally has a few good receivers to throw to. Send me an email at finsinmd at hotmail dot com so I can get you in my addy book.

Peace and Johnny U. Grease

Soul, I agree it's an epidemic in the NFL and more so in the NBA. I'm sure if Mr. Rooney let Ray or Jamal wear Black 'n Gold I would also feel the need to defend them. However, there is one major difference between Mr. Rooney and Mr. Modell, Mr. Rooney does not put up with that type of crap and not allow them to be Steelers.

Sorry the blanck 'n gold blood in me just make me have to be tougher on you purple 'n black fans. Truth be told, It's much better having Ravens fans at Heinz Field than Raiders or Eagles fans. While Ravens fans can give it good to us, they also usually can take it without causing problems. Granted there are the occassional idiots in the crowd but that's expected. For the most part Ravens fans are very respectful and fun at Steeler games. Of course there's always that issue of grown men looking rediculous in purple but hey Modell knew that when he picked the colors. 😉

Gotta agree with you on the team colors....I was really hoping that they would go with gold, red and black...the colors of the Calvert family crest and the Maryland flag...would have loved to see the Ravens sport a similar uniform to the Maryland Terps.

That being said...after having suffered over 10 years without an NFL franchise at the hands of Bob Irsay...I can tell you that Art Modell coulda put them in Titty Pink and Chartreuse colored uniforms and I would still be a fan!

When did Kennedy join the NFL?

ANd for the record, drunk teddy belongs behind bars.

Next, I'd like to see the list of convicts on the Patriots current squad.

OK guys, go to www.badjocks.com to compare the number of felonies that have been committed by various "bad jocks", there are enough to go around and while all this team pride is great, it isn't worth arguing over!
