David Lee Roth is awesome much like Perdomo Cigars! I had heard that David Lee Roth is working now in the NY City area as an EMT. Had heard this sometime ago. Don't know if he still is but I truly respect anybody that can do that! Let alone a true Rock Star like David. Rock on Diamond Dave!

Kinda what I thought when I saw him on the Sopranos a while back. Those years of hard living are catching up with him.

He's losing his hair, he can't sing anymore, and didn't he recently get busted for trying to buy pot from a total stranger in Central Park who turned out to be a cop?

David Lee still has his hair, though it has thinned out a bit but he is 50 now.
He is still on tour so I guess his singing is still OK, concert in Santa Cruz this coming Friday night and he did NOT get busted as you speculated.
He is currently an EMT in New York City and will be taking over the Howard Stern show in Sept. when Howard goes to satelite radio.
My Mom use to tell me when I was a kid, like yourself, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Keep in mind that I've seen both Roth and Hagar live with Van Halen, and while I think Roth was the perfect singer for their early years, Hagar totally kicked his ass with style and control during the more recent albums.

Roth may be mouthy, but he doesn't have a degree in broadcasting and over 25 years of experience in radio. Flapping your yap inbetween songs isn't quite the same as doing a four-hour talk-radio show. There are also plenty of guys who try to outlive their abilities in order to stay in the spotlight--Frank Sinatra, Evander Holyfielf, Mike Tyson... they're everyhwere, in every endeavor.

I know someone who saw a Sans Halen show, and he said that Roth could barely carry a tune, let alone remember the lyrics. "Embarassingly bad."

OFF THE HOOK: If rock 'n' roller David Lee Roth can behave himself for the next year, he won't have a criminal record in New York. In a brief appearance in a Manhattan criminal courtroom last week, a drug case against the former Van Halen lead singer was adjourned pending dismissal. That means a charge that he bought a bag of marijuana in Greenwich Village's Washington Square last month will be dropped and his record wiped clean if he is not arrested in the next year. Roth, 38, was arrested April 16 after police observed him buying a bag of pot. If convicted of drug possession, Roth would have faced up to 15 days in jail and a $250 fine.

Saw him in concert years ago on a double bill with Sammy Hagar. Roth was terrible. Voice was gone and he thought screaming would make it sound better. He also had a desperate "vibe" working and the whole effect was to just make everyone pity or hate him. There was a pretty young woman down front and Roth thought it would be funny to get her close to the stage and, using a whiskey bottle like a hard ****** (ya, probably compensating for a soft one), he sprayed whiskey and got her in the eyes. I'm gonna bet there was more than one less fan after that night. He was way over the hill and thoroughly pissed about it.

I saw them at Nissan Pavilion on that tour, Sammy fuc#in' rocked out his set first, then Roth took the stage, and blew so bad my crew bounced to beat the traffic...except 1/2 the arena had the same plan.
It was BAD.

Was that in Va beach? They change the names on these places so much I don't keep track anymore. Anyway, if it was Va Beach, that was the same show. We were in the early traffic jam also as the only thing to do was get the heck out and be happy about the Sammy Hagar show!

Ha! No the Nissan is about an hour west of Washington DC. Funny the shows were so similar, though.

The RED ROCKER was ON...and Diamond Dave was pathetic. Not taking away from his former glories, just sayin' it was crap on that tour. I think the show at the Nissan was either the last, or the next to last in the tour before ol' Dave blew a fuse and cancelled the tour, iirc.
