What I think Slim means is quick sand. You know when you are going about doing your job, or your everyday routine and you find yourself stuck... you want to run but you can't. You don't know what has ahold of you but you are being drug down and you can't get out... All you can think of is freedom while being consumed by immobilization.

... kind of like being 'overwhelmed' by a bunch of cigar 'geeks' ...

... is what I think what I meant.

I could be wrong.

I really hate it when people 'type' words in my 'mouth' ...

... no offense Country.

I got a friend named Whiskey Sam

He was my boonierat buddy for a year in Nam

He said is my country just a little off track

Took 'em twenty-five years to welcome me back

But, it's better than not coming back at all

Many a good man

I saw fall And even now,

every time I dream I hear the men

and the monkeys in the jungle scream

Drive on, don't mean nothin'

My children love me , but they don't understand

And I got a woman who knows her man

Drive on, don't mean nothin', drive on

I remember one night,

Tex and me Rappelled in on a hot L.Z.

We had our 16's on rock and roll

But, with all that fire,

was scared and cold

We were crazy, we were wild

And I have seen the tiger smile

I spit in a bamboo viper's face

And I'd be dead , but by God's grace

Drive on, don't mean nothin'

My children love me, but they don't understand

And I got a woman who knows her man

Drive on, don't mean nothin', drive on

It was a real slow walk in a real sad rain

And nobody tried to be John Wayne

I came home, but Tex did not

And I can't talk about the hit he got

I got a little limp now when

I walk Got a little tremolo when

I talk But my letter read from Whiskey Sam

You're a walkin' talkin' miracle from Vietnam

Drive on, don't mean nothin'

My children love me, but they don't understand

And I got a woman who knows her man

Drive on, don't mean nothin', drive on

erik,

yes, Mr. Cash penned this song.

His last few albums, despite very limited radio airplay, were friggin awesome.

Speaking of piss ants... best thing to do is surround your house with diazinon. I did that about 5 years ago, or so, and I haven't had an ant in the house since.

Oh... diazinon is some kind of crystalline chemical thing I picked up from Home Depot. You can use one of those hand-held fertilizer spreaders to get it around the house, that's what I did.

Once I realized that I had piss ants, I stopped pissing in my yard and they eventually went away.

The old man turned off the radio

Said, "Where did all of the old songs go

Kids sure play funny music these days

They play it in the strangest ways"

Said, "it looks to me like they've all gone wild

It was peaceful back when I was a child"

Well, man, could it be that the girls and boys

Are trying to be heard above your noise?

And the lonely voice of youth cries "What is truth?"

A little boy of three sittin' on the floor

Looks up and says, "Daddy, what is war?"

"son, that's when people fight and die"

The little boy of three says "Daddy, why?"

A young man of seventeen in Sunday school

Being taught the golden rule

And by the time another year has gone around

It may be his turn to lay his life down

Can you blame the voice of youth for asking

"What is truth?"

A young man sittin' on the witness stand

The man with the book says "Raise your hand"

"Repeat after me, I solemnly swear"

The man looked down at his long hair

And although the young man solemnly swore

Nobody seems to hear anymore

And it didn't really matter if the truth was there

It was the cut of his clothes and the length of his hair

And the lonely voice of youth cries

"What is truth?"

The young girl dancing to the latest beat

Has found new ways to move her feet

The young man speaking in the city square

Is trying to tell somebody that he cares

Yeah, the ones that you're calling wild

Are going to be the leaders in a little while

This old world's wakin' to a new born day

And I solemnly swear that it'll be their way

You better help the voice of youth find

"What is truth/"
