Well my bro is sure sucking this year. #49 in his division. The person he travels with is #14. Since they are both boaters they do not fish together.

Somehow even with his poor showing Skeeter agreed to sponsor him. He is having his new boat built now.

Those rivers suck-ass for bass. I can't believe the Bassmaster Classic was in Pittsburgh.

There are tons of better places for bass in the Pittsburgh area.

The little river (kiskiminitas) that runs through my town has more bass than those three rivers.

I've fished some small ponds in Rhode Island where i've caught fish after fish on whatever lure or bait I decided to use...

Fished a few lakes out here in California and couldn't FIND a fish.

Can't fish CA like you did RI. Too many differences in the fish and the water.

Lures that work great in MO don't always work in TX.

Not only that bassdude, but CA just sucks for freshwater fishing. Especially Southern Cal. If you go north to some of the "back woods" lakes, streams, and rivers, you can catch some nice fish.

Otherwise, all the waterways down here in So Cal are over-fished and polluted. I gave up fishing the local lakes here about a decade ago. Just not much luck no matter what bait or lure I used. The most luck I had was with catfish.

Now take a trip off the coast and you can catch some nice fish. That's if the feds aren't patrolling 🙂

Sweetwater reservoir in San Diego has huge bass in it... you just can't fish there. You are correct though, all lakes you CAN fish in are out of fish.

I am certainly not a bass pro Tony, but I was a pretty damn good fisherman back when I did it. And I lived for largemouth bass fishing. pgatour00 once posted a picture here of Bellville lake in North Kingstown RI. I grew up about 4 miles from that lake, and about 2 miles from Silver Springs Lake and a number of other small lakes and ponds. I knew right where to go in all of them. Bass, Pickerel, Trout... and of course sunfish... damn bait thieves.

Now where is sweetwater damn Macs? 😉

How well do they patrol these days? I'd give anything to goto a lake that actually have fish in it. I mean, I don't mind waiting around smoking cigars and shooting the ****, but I do want to catch something during the course of the day.

The population density is just soo high here, that any lake you goto has been fished out.

Now when I retire in 30 years, I'll have to move to one of those less populated states and give freshwater fishing a try again.

I grew up next to the president of MO bassmasters. Used to fish with him in your neck of the woods. Actually, I didn't fish, I just threw my HulaPopper as far as I could all day and reeled it back in.

You So Cal guys should try the Colorado River or Lake Havasu specifically and the river and wetlands above Havasu. If the Largemouth aint bitin' I can damn near guaranty a limit of Striped Bass and Catfish for the ice chest. Lake Skinner has a decent population of Striped Bass as well. I've caught many a Largemouth out of Lake Perris and Skinner they are far from poluted, hell they're the local drinking water supplies.

jj, I live in Temecula, where skinner is located. I had no idea it was a good fishin' hole. Nobody around me seems to fish there.

And of course now they have the man-made Diamondhead lake...

I remember seeing in the news that Sweetwater was supposed to open for fishing. It was a few months ago, but nothing yet. Too bad, that lake hasn't been fished (legally) since the '50s. Shawn's right - monster Florida strain largemouth.

It ain't no fun fishing here anymore. Seems like you have to use live bait to catch anything in San Diego County lakes nowadays.
