Rafael Palmiero. Damn, the guy just got his 3,000th hit recently.

He continues to deny he took roids, but he'll accept the suspension. Doesn't know how they got in his body.

It's a mystery.

Let's see, maybe..... BY INJECTION???? YA THINK????

Ryno said it best yesterday at his Hall of fame induction. Some players are selfish and don't have respect for the game. I wonder if Raffy was listening? Or Sosa, Bonds, Manny Ramirez, Albert Belle, Pedro Martinez?

lying sack of **** testified before congress he never used the stuff.

They need to put an asterik by his name and everyone else that uses roids.

I believe he was the one who made the flowery introduction speech to Congress about setting bad examples for kids and how he would never consider using performance enhancing drugs blah blah blah.

chances are Mark McGwire was the only truthful player of the bunch before Congress! He said, "lets not dwell on the past" and would not deny that he took steroids or suppliements! Seems Sosa, Palmerio, etc all denied the hell out of it!

Mark McGwire took the 5th. That's avoiding the question and that's as good as admitting it to me. That is not being truthful.

I love how Palmeiro used the same line that the roid king, Barry B used

"I did not knowingly take steroids". The excuse moves from one liar to another.

This is going to really shake some trees, now that they have hooked a big time star!

Canseco wrote in his expose that he shot anabolic steroids directly into Palmeiro.

Palmeiro was a wiry singles hitter when he hit the major leagues. Then he "grew" and began to hit for power.

It's no wonder that he became the Viagra national spokesman. When you add synthetic testosterone, your body reduces natural production. I believe Palmeiro was taking human growth hormone for years, but someone slipped something steroidal into his hgh syringe and he tested +.

I am not defending Palmeiro. But I have heard that taking some over the counter non steroid performance supplements, some herbal, will metobolize into steroids in the body.

If this is true then it is possible that he did not knowing take a steroid.

This would mean that baseball or the fda would have to identify these non steroid enhancment supplement as banned substances Otherwise how would someone know?

I think a 10-game suspension is a joke! He should be out for at least 30-days for the first offense, 90-days for the second, and a permanent ban for the third! All without pay of course!

to herfsnipe,

I think you need to look within yourself and see what problem you have with minority ball players. Not one of your players listed above is white, so i guess they are all clean. So lets think about it.

Dont you think that your accusation of racism is a bit premature? You are new around here, at least I dont recognize your screen name.

You take one post from one thread and come up with that kind of conclusion? I've been here a while and havent noticed herfsnipe to be a racist.

You should get to know the folks on these boards before throwing out comments like that.

What does race have to do with steriods in general? Your accusation is pretty thin! Try again!

First of all i'm not a racist, second of all i'm a black guy with a white wife and 2 kids. The reason that i made that statement is that everyone tend to harp on the greatest ball player in awhile. It always seem that barry bonds name is trashed with steroid and none of the non-minority is affiated with the subject. (i.e ken camanelli)If players are found guilty of cheating then they should me talked about and held accountably in everyway. I fight for this country everyday and put my life on the line with other races and enjoy it, but if one of my well like Marines screw up i'll make them feel the same music that a dirtbag Marine would face. Fair is fair and wrong is wrong.

Thanks for your service in the USMC....you are highly appreciated by this poster and lots others! I did not call you a racist, I said, when did this become a racial issue? It is not a racial issue! It is a problem in MLB that must be addressed!

You know, I forgot all about Ken Caminitti, because he really wasn't what I consider a great ball player, like Bonds and some of the others that are "associated" with enhancements such as Steroids!

That is a good point!

Where did anyone call you a racist? Nowhere here. It's you that started that kind of talk. Also if you need to pic a players name for an example, why not use a player that, well, is playing?

I'll answer that for you. Right now it just so happens that all the greatest current players are mostly minorities.

I'm a hugh Bonds fan, and I'm a mexican who is married to a white woman. So dont pull any race stuff with me.

That's all I have to say, except, thanks for serving our country.

There is a "winner" in all of this (and i use the term "winner" very loosely).

Jose Conseco has to be smiling right now.

He may be a jag-off in his personal life, but he is speaking the truth about steroids; Rafi can deny all he wants, but I got to side with Jose when he speaks on this subject.
