hey, rick, here's our first passion flower bloom. the pics not that great, but you can still see it pretty well. my wife took it a few months back. this thing attracts these nasty looking caterpillars like no other plant i've ever seen. 452536.JPG

i said a few months -- apparently, not. i didn't realize how recent it was until i looked at the date/time stamp on the pic. oops.

life's tough. it's tougher if you're stupid.

it is attracting those yellow butterflies who lay their eggs on your plant, trusting your good nature to not harm them, and those ugly caterpillers will soon spin a cocoon and morph into yellow butterflies.

enjoy nature as you find it.

life may be tough, but it's not easy being green.

unfortunately, the caterpillars are eating the plant. they have even eaten buds.

you will soon have more buds and leaves and plant then the caterpillers need.

patience grasshopper. all things will be what they are to be.

"revenge is a dish best served cold"! The caterpillars will get theirs, when the plants rise up and attack them!

Charlie, I help it along with a little soapy water spray.

The ants, aphids, and caterpillars will get no free lunch from me.

Mine have at least 5- 6 buds per plant & are about 5 feet tall (near the top of the fan-shaped wooden lattice).

Can't wait to see the flowers.

Just don't do what I did this week - got some spray for the bugs on some of my plants and treated them. Of course, I was barefoot at the time. Now I have a rash all over my feet from the allergic reaction.

Have had to walk around barefoot at work all week cause I can't wear my shoes. (better than me staying home)

BTW, these flowers are absolutely gorgeous. I am thinking that maybe next year I might try some of the varieties around here.
