President Chirac has officially raised the French terror alert from "Run" to "Hide".

There are only two higher alert levels in France, which are "Surrender"

and "Collaborate".

The rise was precipitated by a recent fire which destroyed France's white flag factory - effectively crippling the French military

Sad , but this is almost true! They are apathetic to the rest of the world, only what is good for France!

My brother-in-law is going to Paris for a sales meeting. I told him that if any of those damn french (epsecially a parisian) give him any guff, he should remind them that they would be speaking German if it weren't for us!

Hopefully he won't take my advice. Actually the saavy thing for Americans travelling abroad is to claim your canadian. There is this company that even sells "kits" help you pass as a canadian.

Being an American is great, but not when you're traveling and the rest of the world hates us.

jcwbnimble Don't respond! Don't respond!

Much like Tey begged adroomi not to respond to the RugRunner about Vietnam in another thread, I advise you against further participation in this thread.

Lets just fast forward and close this thread...

jcwbnimble: What I mean is....

adroomi: (mocks you for your "stupid" comment).

jcwnimble: (further explains himself)

adroomi: (flames jcwbnimble)

crickets: (chirp)

adroomi: (Some small tweak to try to get the whole process started again).

The Adroomi Post Circle of Life- Comment and or/question, the attack, the flame, the aftermath.

Don't give him the satisfaction.

(Now his shot at me either from him or one of his Flying Monkeys).

Then I say "Oh, I see adroomi, you are truly wise. Thank you for your wisdom. I will start _______ now."

Think we are done here. Nothing to see here move along, move along. Keep traffic moving.

Flying Monkeys...That reminds me that I need to order tickets for the Broadway play "Wicked".

While I'm sitting here sipping a fine French Cognac, I would just like to say that not responding to Adroomi's innocent question would be very "French-like" wouldn't it? Really, rolling over that quickly would be just like a cheese eating surrender monkey.

Besides, if one wants to act Canadian, all you really have to do is understand hockey!

...this morning I slept in. I deserved it. I caught a bit of a sunburn on the boat yesterday.

I had a really nice breakfast, with a cup of coffee served to me on the patio as I watched the boats depart for the day.

The car provided by the hotel drove me to the airport and I had a good chat with a couple of US Government Contracters while waiting for our flight. They are computer guys. I convinced Asiana Airlines to upgrade them to Business so we could continue our chat on the flight. One of them is married to a Chinese woman and plans to retire soon to Shenzen where one of his houses is......a 6000 Square footer that he had built for about 6 months of his salary.

Tonight I'm enjoying a cigar and a Cuban rum at the hotel while surfing the net on the free wireless provided and explaining to the lounge staff how good it is to be back in town. The woman at the end of the bar (a pretty thing of about 40 with Gucci pumps and a sly smile) is eyeing me. I wonder if she's on the executive floor too. If not, I'll make sure she is tonight.......

I like rum.....

Is the woman Janet West, AKA Iris?

Andy,

I don't get it....

By the way, her name is Ivy Wong, and she's a plastic surgeon from Hong Kong.

I showed her a scar on my hip (it's about 7.62 millimeters wide) and asked her if she could remove it. She's divorced and has a couple of kids in high school. She wants to see more of my scars (I told her I have a few). I told her I'd like to see her episiotomy scar. She laughed and said she'd think about it.....then she gave me a sideways glance (I love that).

She's smoking a Monte #2 (from me of course). Her first.......

literary reference to Herman Wouk, "Don't Stop the Carnival".

The description of your day reminds me of that book.

...You know, I've never read a single work of Wouk's. If you recommend him, I'll read him........what do you recommend?

The Caine Mutiny, of course is quite good.

Don't Stop the Carnival is lighter reading, but a pretty nice little book for sitting in the sun with a cigar and a cool drink.

Wow Adroomi, you scored a female plastic surgeon? She'll go great with the plastic school girl, the plastic cheerleader, and the plastic Ms Universe inflatables you're already dating! LOL

Or can I assume she was either never there or never there with you? You spot her 730, you're chatting her up with witty (that episiotomy scar line is a keeper) banter at 800 and at 840 still typing about books with Andytv.

Good thing she's plastic, a real woman would have left already.

Also plastic women don’t weigh as much so they won’t run up the fuel cost on the new 737 if you bring your entire harem globe trotting with you! You are always thinking!

Andy,

I'll pick up "Caine Mutiny" next week in Singapore at Borders.

I'm a pretty big Tom Robbins fan, do you read him?

By the way, Ivy likes Wouk........She told me all about his "style."

Thanks!!!!

I'll check out Tom Robbins eventually. I'm working on sort of a "course" that requires extensive reading, mostly nonfiction.

When summer rolls around, I need a break from that crap so I re-read my favorite classics (Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Wouk, even Tolkein). Its not often a new writer breaks into my routine, but Tom Robbins seems interesting.

I was turned on to Tom Robbins by a colleague of mine that mailed me one of his books and told me the lead character was obviously based upon me. The book was called "Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates."

Tom Robbins is a nut, and his books are wonderful.

Enjoy....

Who really gives a rat's ass? As i've said before, others may buy your BS, but I never have and I never will. Carry on.
