I have great news. After a year of testing and interviewing and testing and interviewing, I have finally recieved my first job as a Firefighter/Paramedic here in San Diego County!

I think I will celebrate with a Monte Platinum or a RP Vintage.

Just thought I would share my joy.

Thanks for listening.

Thank you for all your wishes. That is really nice.

bassdude: I know the feeling, I have been a paramedic 3 1/2 years and finally decided what I want to do.

Great day to everyone!

Congrads! One of my neighbors is an EMT and we live in a quiet little burb. His motto is "Sleep 'till you're hungry, eat 'till you're tired."

He works (or should I say is on duty) 48 hrs straight Fri through Sunday then has the rest of the week off. Not a bad gig if you ask me. But then again I couldn't deal with the bood and guts, or the whiney "I need attention so I called 911."

I do love to hear the stories of how stupid the general population is though. Guess you get all kinds when you work in public service.

I thought you were going to say that you saved a ton of money on your car insurance by switching to Geico.

Regardless, congrats.

Congrats from an "old geezer" retired truck Captain. Been away from it 13 years and I still miss it sometimes.

Stay safe.
