I did see vasectomy mentioned in another post and didn't wnat to jack it so I thought I'd ask here.

Guys..(and ladies, why discriminate)

Have you been fixed.. did you get the snip..the big vas..

I went under the knife right after my daughter was born. So that's been like 25 years ago. My wife and I changed our minds about it many years later and tried to have it reversed but it didn't work. But I'll tell you having things reconnected is a lot more painfull then having them unconnected.

My wife had a C-section for our last child's birth. I slipped the surgeon a twenty to tie her tubes while he was in there.

Seriously, we both decided two kids was the right numbers. Since she was already being opened up for the delivery, we boht figured it was the easiest and least painfull way to go.

If she had balked, I would have had it done. Thank god she didn't balk 'cause the mere thought of a vasectomy give me the heeby-jeebies.

It's almost as easy for the woman now to be fixed. Sorry guys I wouldn't put you through that. Yes I did it for me! After all, I'm the one that has the baby if someting slips up:) my two cents

did it after #4 our little surprise. Piece of cake and you get a few days off work with the wife waiting on you.

Bad thing was I kept my cigars in the basement and steps sucked so I had to buy more to keep upstairs.

I had it done when I turned 40(6 yrs ago). Back then our doctor said it was safer for me to do it rather than my wife having a hysterectomy.

The doctor was a damn joker! I'm laying there hating life while he is telling me vasectomy jokes. I couldnt feel much, but a little tug here and there.

The worst part was when he said, "well, I'm all done.... with one side!" If I hadnt been in such a compromising position(he did have me by the balls), I'd have decked his ass.

OK, here's the deal. My wife was scheduled to have a c-section due to some complications with our second child. We planned for her to be fixed since the docs were going to be cutting on her anyway. Well, my daughter was born with some unexpected problems and the doctors weren't sure if she would live. They decided not to do the procedure on my wife. A couple months later I went under the knife. It was quick and fairly painless. Went home and put some ice on it and only had some minor tenderness for about a week.

after the birth of bradley, our second child, we felt we had enough children. i was going to have a hernia operation so i asked the doctor to throw in the vas, no extra charge.

he sat down with bith of us to make sure we understood the implications. back then in 1967, the idea of reconnecting was not even visualized.

when toby was 34 in 1970, she decided to have a hysterectomy. she said enough with the monthly inconveniences and she didn't want to go through the hot flashes or whatever of change of life problems that were coming soon.

toby is a smart cookie.

neither of us has ever regreted our desicions until i found out about the sperm donor program. i could have

supplemented our income, maybe not by much, but a dollar here and a dollar there, it all adds up.

Once we got number one and number done (1 each) we discussed different methods. Once I got tired of waiting on him, I scheduled it for me. I have never hurt so bad in my life. All in all, glad no more surprises. I can wait for grandchildren.

My saying to my ex was that I gave birth to my 2 girls, him having a vasectomy was the least he could do. He said he would do it if the doctor said that it was easier for him than me. The dr said it was considered a major surgery for me and an easy surgery for him. He ended up having the surgery. In hind sight I wish I would have done it. It would have made life a lot easier later.

Maybe some of you guys can convince David to do it.

Had it done after our second (we only wanted two). Piece of cake and they gave me all kinds of pain meds (way more than I'll use up). They come in handy when I tweak my knees or back. I don't have to go to the doc when I only need one or two a month max.

vfr - it's a piece of cake. The only pain was the first shot and it was over in less than 12 minutes. The only problem I had was the swelling made it difficult to walk. Maybe I should have used ice.

12 minutes??

Yes, but only for the small ones. Bigger ones take a lot longer;)

(LOL just kidding.)

DD, it is actually the other way around. Smaller is much more difficult to work with. The nice Greek Dr does about 3k of these a year.

I'm 31, divorced and no kids. Had mine done last year. Don't want kids. Had no problems with the Vtomy...felt it was the responsible thing to do...

...as some of my opponents on this thread would probably agree. 🙂
