Paul was an avid bidder here at CigarBid ... and was able to pull off 'wins' at good prices where I would fail. He would even score those brands that I could not ...
At his memorial, there was a rememberance table that had photos of him from his birth until his death ... along with a few material things he really enjoyed, including his prized CAO Mesh Trucker's Cap and his humidor filled with his prized cigars.
Near the humidor was a card tht read, "On this day ... take a cigar, and smoke it in honor of Paul." That card was placed there by his 20 year old daughter.
I reached into that humidor, and pulled out a 5 Vegas Series 'A' Alpha (torpedo) ... only because it would be the first one I ever had of this new line ... as there were so many top-shelf vitola to choose from.
I joined a large group of his close friends and co-workers out in the beautiful Colorado pines ... as we smoked his treasured cigars. We shared stories and we shed tears ... as we indulged in reminiscence.
My brother was a very kind and fair man ... and usually when he told jokes, he would always make them out so that he would be the butt of them, so as not to offend anyone. It was a still day, and as I took a deep drag off my cigar, I blew the smoke to the heavens, saying "may Paul's spirit travel to the heavens on this smoke" .... only to have it catch a small gust of wind, that took it plummeting straight down to the ground.
Stunned, everyone went totally silent ... as I mumbled something like, "did I just say that?" ... "I take that back, here, let me try again". The next thing I knew, everyone burst out laughing.
We could all feel Paul's spirit there ... again making himself the butt of the joke, and and suggesting that by making the smoke plummit down ... he had gone to hell.
That was just like him ...
