I come home from the Giants game tonight to find a package from L. W. Sheppard - Major, U.S. Marines on my doorstep.

I opened it to find an awsome letter of appreciation with photos of the troops in action and taking some time off and enjoying one of our cigars. Also included was a present and certificate certifying that the accompanying flag (Present) was flown at Task Force Rhino Headquarters during Operation Iraqi Freedom 04-06 in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq. The date of 11 August, 2005 is when the flag was flown.

The certificate was signed by SgtMaj A. Johnson and LtCol A. E. Renforth.

We at Operation From The Heart (OpFTH) have adopted the Major and his unit as our main recepient for the past 7 months +/-. Along with the flag and certificate, I received a nice letter of appreciation.

I am honored!

You brought a smile to this old disabled Viet Nam era vet. I remember vividly how wonderful it was to get anything from the "world". I hoped my son would never have to experience war . . . but he returned from the war zone four months ago, and has just been notified that his unit will be deploying to Iraq again soon. Thanks for what you're doing to bring a smile, and a little bit of home, to our fighting men.
